Although language changes over time, English has been quite consistent since about the beginning of the eighteenth century. Just read the Federalist or any eighteenth century novel, like Tom Jones and you'll find it entirely comprehensible. That is because the grammar and vocabulary have stayed quite consistent over the years, even though many newer words have been added to the language since the eighteenth century.

And that consistency also ties us more strongly to the past as our forbears appear to be much like ourselves. The Left strives to cut us off from our true history and always seeks to demonize heros from the past.
