Little surprises Lynda Sutherland, who has been a licensed vocational nurse for 35 years at San Mateo Medical Center. But in the past few years, Sutherland said, she’s been surprised by what’s missing: the patients who used to return again and again to the public hospital for the same ailments.

Obamacare equals big bucks to these health care providers.
Patients who aren’t on the medicaid free ride aren’t coming back because the deductibles are killing them.
“They’re just not coming back,” she said.
The (wrong) hospitals simply don’t want the open competition on the free market where consumers are free to choose the best quality care for the lowest price.
Big government is like a drug - it puts alertness, industriousness, and innovation to sleep.

Where does that money go? To these people. So they’re a little depressed right now.
LVNs are important in hospitals. However, if they were the brain trust of hospitals, they would be key mds, administrators and head RNs.

I know people who worked in healthcare and had their benefits or jobs cut because of obamacare. I even read a quote from vox yesterday with the same problem.

If I heard my president correctly we will get the repeal and new program in two weeks. We will not tolerate repairing this communist health care debacle . We want that obliterated. I and many here have proposed viable new plans but they must emphasize that we do not want to pay for freeloaders health insurance with our premiums, that is communism. We have the ER for freeloaders so they don’t die in the street.
I was forced on to our Obamacare state exchange here in NY. for my family, we basically have to spend $21,000 in premiums and deductibles before anything at all is covered.
My neighbor, who works for the local public university, and works about 175 days per year, and has every penny covered - including plastic surgery.
Besides the elimination of Obamacare, there MUST be an allowance and support for the development of CASH medical payments. Let every medical establishment establishment and doctor develop direct CASH payments from patients directly, with prices negotiated only between provider and patient. There MUST be an alternative to 3rd party payers ruling the entire system.

AND, even if there HAD been some financial gain, it was bought with a loss in FREEDOM, and FREEDOM is more important than MONEY (yes, any DEMs may need to reread and reread that until they can comprehend if, if ever), so out the F with it!!
Yeah, I’m paying full price for Obamacare and any ER visit would probably burn through my huge deductible in 5 minutes. Can’t afford to be sick, literally.
So this medical center is harvesting 60% of its budget from taxpayers and their work load is less because people can’t afford the deductibles to come to the doctor. And this “healthcare professional” thinks that is great….no doubt an Obama voter.
Exactly! It’s largely the intrusion of third parties that has F’ed up the system*, and even that was due to government poking their nose in stuff they knew nothing about. To be fair, I realize it’s probably very difficult for them to find a topic where that doesn’t apply, but too bad, mind your own business.
*And it’s not the “free market” that hosed things, except as an attempted workaround for goobermint meddling. Except for HOA’s and insurers, who thinks that acting like a totalitarian government and treating their CUSTOMERS like subjects is a viable business plan. Compare the cost and quality trends in medical services people pay for out of pocket with those insurance (private or government) pays for.
