He had a chance to be brought home early on account of his well-connected daddy, but wouldn’t leave without the other men. Heroic enough, but so what. Menachem Begin was a hero in 1948, but gave the Sinai back to Egypt in 1978. Fidel Castro was a hero when he was fighting in the mountains, but later was a commy dictator. George Washington was a hero in the revolution, and a great President. Ben Gurion was a backstabbing creep during the revolt against the Mandate, but was an outstanding prime minister. Heroism in war-time is irrelevant to performance as a politician years later, and vice versa. Heroism launches careers, but does not define them.

CNN TANKS !

Judge Throws Out CNN’s Attempt To Dismiss $30 Million “Fake News” Lawsuit
February 19, 2017

A Georgia court has thrown out CNN’s effort to dismiss a court case in which Davide Carbone, CEO of St. Mary’s Medical Center in West Palm Beach, accused the media giant of fabricating a story against his institution.

According to LawNewz.com, Carbone said CNN aired “a series of false and defamatory news reports” insinuating that St. Mary’s had an infant mortality rate that was three times higher than the national average.

He also accused the media giant of purposely ignoring information that would make St. Mary’s look good in an effort to produce a sensational story.

Carbone – who lost his job as a result of the reporting – filed a libel lawsuit against CNN seeking $30 million in damages. CNN attempted to have that suit dismissed – an effort that Federal District Judge Orinda Evans cut short last week.

According to the National Law Journal, Evans found that Carbone “has presented enough evidence at this early stage of the case to suggest that CNN ‘was acting recklessly with regard to the accuracy of its reporting.’”

She also found evidence of “actual malice” in the fact that CNN continued to insist that St. Mary’s had been subject to an official investigation, even after Florida’s Agency for Health Care Administration denied this.

Carbone’s lawyer describes the ruling as a major victory.

“False and defamatory accusations against real people have serious consequences,” he said. “Neither St. Mary’s or Mr. Carbone did anything to deserve being the objects of the heinous accusation that they harmed or put babies and young children at risk for profit.”

“The ruling,” he added, “serves as a well-reasoned reminder that the media, its defense lawyers and its lobbyists do not have a corner on the market of correct interpretation and application of the First Amendment.”

This case will proceed and ultimately be faced by a jury.

The most famous in our history was none other than the lauded hero of his time for the stunning victories at Ticonderoga and Saratoga whose name is synonymous with the label traitor, Benedict Arnold.

I have used this in the past in regards to McCain’s hero status and the truth that all glory is fleeting. None more evident that this quote attributed to Patton;

“For over a thousand years Roman conquerors returning from the wars enjoyed the honor of triumph, a tumultuous parade. In the procession came trumpeteers, musicians and strange animals from conquered territories, together with carts laden with treasure and captured armaments. The conquerors rode in a triumphal chariot, the dazed prisoners walking in chains before him. Sometimes his children robed in white stood with him in the chariot or rode the trace horses. A slave stood behind the conqueror holding a golden crown and whispering in his ear a warning: that all glory is fleeting.”

McCain’s break with long established protocol of keeping our internal fights at the water’s edge has now placed him in the same league as Arnold and ironically enough, Obama. This indicates that he was undoubtedly pleased by the Logan Act talk in regards to Flynn, when there was no violation whatsoever, and as a result upped his attacks on The President from a foreign land. Rand Paul was very much within his right to criticize him for his actions. Now that Paul has opened the door for others to pile on as soon as McCain remains defiant and continues, and we know he will, rebuke by an even larger net of those in the halls of Congress will be given the moral latitude to do so.

There will come a time where the only honorable thing McCain can do is to resign and slink away to the painted cliffs of Sedona. But this arrogant wart on our history will never do that. Instead of pulling out of an attack run when warned he was painted, he defied his training and kept in the dive to be the hero who landed a bomb on that NV power plant. Just think of it, if he would have remained true to his training, we might have never heard from this Keating 5 crook.

I think that is what is known as presenting 'alternate facts'. They had facts that they could have cited but chose not to. Those facts were alternate ones.

I think he was a hero. I appreciate what he did for servicemen and I believe he served our country well. But now he is willing to dismantle it and I loathe him for that.

San Francisco Chronicle used to do that years ago, they had several markets, used a Star to identify which areas, more stars more conservative etc. I found out by accident comparing Stories with my Sister in the City.
