Establishment media widely reported Thursdays Day Without Immigrants protest against President Trumps enforcement of immigration laws, but how much of an impact did the boycott actually have?
It was a big deal for the reporters, who are paid to cover this sort of thing, said Ira Mehlman, spokesman for the Washington, D.C.-based advocacy group FAIR, the Federation for American Immigration Reform.
I dont think the rest of the American public really noticed all that much, he told WND.

We’ve been in
LA for a few days. It was a nothing. Hahahahaaaa.
We’ve been in Las Vegas for a few days. It was a nothing. Hahahahaaaa.
Forever.
No, but I don’t frequent establishments that hire illegal aliens.
These people are on the left because they are unable to reason.
I drove past the Civic Center in SF, expecting to see a mob of protestors. Nada.
These people are on the left because they are unable to reason.
Yep, I think you are on to something. They seem to lack the most rudimentary reasoning ability. So they have opinions which don’t seem grounded in any facts or common sense.
Ditto here in South Bay near San Jose. Construction crews going full-tilt. There’s a major house remodel a couple blocks away and the food truck was there...mobbed with the high school kids as well as the house construction workers. Didn’t notice a thing unusual.
A day without immigrants would’ve been a great thing to have the day Kate Steinle was killed in Sanctuary City San Francisco.
Is it possible there aren’t as many illegals here as we’ve been led to believe?
Is it possible someone hyped that as a way to get the establishment GOP borderless pukes in power?
That’s the typical leftist...all emotions and zero ability to think analytically or pragmatically about any issue. Why else would they adore communism and socialism when the world is full of empirical evidence over the past 100 years that these systems lead to extreme poverty for most people, enslavement to the state, the absolute breakdown of morals, and scarcity of all products? Why can’t they look at Venezuela right now and admit the failure of socialism?
No way are there fewer than we’ve been led to believe.
The smart illegales kept a low profile. Why call attention to yourself?
Thursday arrived, and so did the "immigrants", about an hour before the Redi-mix trucks. They worked their ever loving tails off until dark, without a single break. I did bring them some cold water bottles out, and they stopped long enough to drink them. The driveway came out near perfect.
Weren’t a bunch of teachers in Cali suspended (with pay) for remarking how peaceful their classes were?
I agree that that is a logical behavior for an illegal. Don’t call attention to yourself.
But, to be honest with you, up here in Ohio where I’m at, I just don’t see any illegals that I say to myself, “Now there’s an illegal.”
Cincinnati mayor decided recently (on his own?) that Cincinnati’s a sanctuary city now. That should be easy. They have to hide about a dozen people from what I can tell.
The sheriff by the way says the mayor is mad and no way he’s going to enforce the mayor’s wishes. He’s sending illegals to ICE. The same with the state treasurer, Josh Mandel, who says no way he’s going along with that trash out of Cincy’s mayor.
.... Actually I think these I-Migrants (Illegal Migrants) have finally come up with a great Idea!! The Day Without I-Migrants went so smoothly here in Los Angeles that I think they should make it permanent.
Dilbert, you asked many good questions, none of them stupid. I think when you get those answered you get some sort of prize. I honestly think there is something wrong with their brains. I know women who went to that march and they are “off.” One common denominator in those women, the ones I know, lives, is are they are truly do not have God in their lives.
A Day Without illegals has a wonderful sound to it.
We were warned from our Labor Union that there might be some no-shows that day, but they would have a few extra laborers on hand in case that happened (they might not be be experienced in our kind of work though, we were told).
All of our usual guys showed up, I think we had 30 laborers on the clock. Plenty are Hispanic as well.
Seems out of 400 laborers in that local, everyone showed up.
