Many, probably most of those voters felt the same way about the media before they voted for McCain and for Romney. Just saying, the "delegitimized press" isn't new or on account of Trump. Limbaugh has been reaming the press for what, 20 years?
If Rush phrased this in terms of "Trump voters," the press will continue to associate "deligitimzing of the press" with what they will characterize as some negative aspect of Trump. He's a dictator (cue McCain to deliver this line), he's a liar (cue any minor error in statement of fact), his policies are failing and his team is floundering.

We all witness the coverage. Confirmation bias is, however, very strong, and the liberals are apt to believe themselves and their kin.
Liberals keep losing elections and have nobody to blame; they need to look in the mirror. They will keep losing if they continue to act like a bunch of spoiled little kids.
The Liberal Media will lose unless they start being more honest. They act like a bunch of people who become emotional after losing at a sports event. They only feel the pain from losing but have no idea how to change a losing team. They need to get better talent who have a different positive style.

This modern inclination started with the press love affair over FDR. The absolutely hated Nixon, loved JFK. Remember Cronkite telling us what a disaster Vietnam was even while we completely kicked Viet Cong ass to the point they were never an effective fighting force (after that North Vietnam had to send troops).
And then the anti-Nixon orgasm that was called Watergate?
And Sam Donaldson yelling at Reagan?
The gleefulness over Iran-Contragate only to wind up with hero Colonel Oliver North?
The Lust affair with only 43% of the vote Bill Clinton?
Like I said they don’t change.
Still, the war on Trump has been the most blatant thing so far. I truly believe they’re going to lose that, hell they already have (HE WON!) and don’t even understand it.
