It is said that a person does not own a fine old violin - rather that a person is just passing through the life of that violin.

Perhaps if one considers the elements from whence the gun originated from... then one is passing through the life of those elements.

I talk guns with my GP. He has a bolt action rifle in .243 Winchester and a Ruger mini 14, .223. No problem with Doc and me. We keep trying to get together to hit the range. He hates public ranges and I told him to let me know when he wants to go to my club’s private range.

Also he collects fossils and has them in his office. I gave him some Devonian period rocks with fossils that are all over my deer hunting camp.

And we can lie.

No problem with lying.

The MSM does it all the time.

“That is a private matter.”
= = =

Hmmmm ... How can I categorize gun ownership as a health issue, thus making it HIPPA protected.

Or call my gun “My Lawyer” ... sorry, that is priveleged information.

Or self declare my ‘gun’ as ... I don’t know ... gender neutral, or as a female, or ... ???

Sometimes, when you want to defend your family, the best thing to do is to lie to your doctor, even if you trust him. If you feel the need to challenge the EMR system, you will be jeopardizing the well-being of your family.

Look buddy, I’m on your side. People are giving advice. Boat jokes are funny. “I forget” jokes are funny. I try to always post funny crap. Funny is great.

But the people who orchestrated the EMR system aren’t funny.

The gun grabbers are playing the long game. Your answer won’t get a know on the door immediately, but in a few years thing may start happening to you and your kids, and you will never know why.

Just say no.

Doctor: “do you own a gun”?

Patient: “ like you doc, I do my best work with knife...”

In an age when doctors are ethical, this could be just fine.

Guns are a subject that leads to a lot of imbalanced thought.

And anyhow, because you’re not a shooter today, doesn’t mean you might not be a shooter tomorrow. And what of bows and arrows, or hunting knives, etc.?

I’ve had to laugh at medical offices who can’t even keep their records straight about whether I am still taking a certain stomach remedy.

The ultimate answer is that our governance itself respects our rights. I actually defended the concept of outlaw biker the other day, in the sense of a private society that protects rights when the law is seen to have gone all rotten (which doesn’t have to mean bent on murder and mayhem). I let some of those Waco apologists really have it. They were feeding the climate that gives rise to more outlaw bikers.

But this is a stinking second best, before God, to the situation where “when the righteous bear rule, the people rejoice.”

Lets get our governance right and the doctors won’t even be a worry.

A bigger issue to address is : are doctors being REQUIRED to ask, and by whom? THAT requiring entity is who we should be going after.

You win the gun.net.

This sure didn’t look like a regulation that says “Doctors must not be required to ask about guns.” That could have been upheld. It said “Doctors are required not to ask about guns.”

Worship of gun rights, just like worship of any other rights, will inevitably go overboard.

Since when does free speech apply to a private corporate setting? The court case should lie in whether or not the government can require the question be asked? If ones doctor feels the need to ask it, the it’s either a lead in to an invitation to join him shooting or a clear signal you need to find a doctor who’s ideology matches yours...

It’s not impossible.

They will not disarm you of your weapons.

They will disarm you of you and your family’s livelihoods.

If asked I would say, why yes I do. A grease gun, a glue gun, an air gun and I believe my grandson has a nerf gun and a couple of squirt guns in the toy box in the spare bedroom.
