California Democrats made a surprise move late Friday to foil President Trump’s promise to repeal ObamaCare—by introducing a stand-alone, single-payer healthcare system in California. The Mercury News reported that two California lawmakers Friday introduced legislation to replace private insurance with a government-run health care system covering all 38 million Californians—including its undocumented residents.

“We’ve reached this pivotal moment,” Sen. Ricardo Lara (D-Bell Gardens), told the Mercury News in an interview Friday, “and I thought to myself: `Look, now more than ever is the time to talk about universal health care.’”

No wonder LA Democrat Mayor Garcetti is getting ripped for underreporting Crime by his Opponents running for Mayor.

He is underreporting Crime by Illegal Invaders, but it isn’t a problem since those same Illegal Invaders are Registered to Vote.

“1. 40% of all workers in LA County (10.2 million people) are working for cash; and not paying taxes. This is because they are predominantly illegal immigrants, working without a green card. (Donald Trump was right)”

The entire population of LA County is 10.2 million. The number of “workers” would be somewhat less.

I can find the population broken down six ways to sunday, but no easy way to calculate the 18-64 population.

Thank you! I was looking on a totally different website.

Once again, a citizen doing the job the media won’t do.

Exactly right, if people want “government” to provide stuff the correct location is the local and state governments. The federal government has no constitution authority to take from one citizen and provide to another. We should have 50 states going their own ways to meet their citizens desires according to their state constitutions. People can decide the government they want and move around to a state that suits their politics. Certainly I believe this kind of control will lead to poor quality and high cost, but we can get some data for others to make decisions.

For best results (for the rest of the country), California should initiate their state ‘single-payer’ system to attract all of those in the US who have disproportionate health care needs. Then a couple years later they should secede. The rest of the country would be better off and our health insurance would be cheaper - and California would be left holding the bag.

They are pulling a second civil war. This is de-facto what Lincoln went to war against Democrats for.

California is defacto seceding and acting rogue, but what is worse is that it seeks to export and impose its ways on other states, just like Democrats attempted thus creating a Casus Belly, trying to overturn electoral college etc... and exporting crime and illegals and terrorism to neighbor states.

On whose money?
CA is billions in the hole and has a 220 billion dollar pension debt.

90% of our people qualify for assistance, makes no sense.

Fine...let California pay the whole thing.

Retired veterans, you better get out while you still can! A hostage situation is an ugly thing.

I think that’s great!
But Californians (and no one else) should pay for it.

Perhaps they might invest some in life jackets when the dams burst though.

These liberal idiots ran out of money years ago and yet they are proposing another huge drain on future cash flows with a single payor healthcare system...to include illegals? Talk about a magnet for even more illegals to sneak into the US and settle in Kalifornia.

Man, there is some powerful stupid going on in Sacramento.

We hit the top of the market when we sold our home on Monterey County and left the state. But, like I said, I feel bad for people we know who are stuck there.

I had a friend who lived, like most folks took the same route to and from his neighborhood where ever he went. One day there was a road repair project in progress and he had to wind his way out the other side of his neighborhood.

He was shocked to see homes only a few blocks away from his with graffiti on fences or with four foot chain link fences around the yard and bars on the windows.

He put his home on the market that night and was gone in a month. He moved to Montana with no job but had enough equity to sustain him for some time and ended up inventing a way to work from home.
