my family owned land in LA County which had a lot of oil under it. And some years ago the oil companies pumped so much oil out that it was believed by some geologists to have been the proximate cause of a big earthquake.
drilling under LA County is not so simple...or safe...really....
and yes, there are also all those Dinosaurs under there, too!
how would you like to have Musk’s big drill invade your living room if you were a dinosaur?
(Actually, they say they only found big mammoths at the La Brea Tar Pits, but everyone always thinks they found dinos too and just aren’t fessing up to it because dinos are a “protected species” in CA, ha!)
They really need to get rid of the car pool lane. I use to drive the 405 thru the pass and see the half empty lane.

it is pretty weird, imho, to want to spend tons of money digging holes like a gopher
why would they approve it when they can build it for 10 times more and take 5 times longer.
