But Cummings, he said, had made it impossible to schedule a meeting – and he blamed Senate minority leader Chuck Schumer for telling him not to come
Cummings disputed the story, but only denied the portion involving supposed pressure from Schumer

A Maryland Democratic congressman says Donald Trump invented part of a story on Thursday about a planned meeting between the two men that never happened.
During a White House press conference, the president said Rep. Elijah Cummings was scheduled to sit down with him but canceled because of pressure from Democratic leaders who are concerned about political appearances.
'I actually thought I had a meeting with Congressman Cummings. And he was all excited,' Trump told reporter April Ryan – who, like Cummings, is a vocal advocate for African-Americans.
'And then he said, "Oh, I can't move – it might be bad for me politically. I can't have that meeting." I was all set to have the meeting," the president claimed.

Bottom line is that President Trump was willing to meet and the democrat(s) put the kibosh on it.
Any blame for the meeting not happening fall squarely on the dems.

The serial liar, Cummings, declined the meeting. He also admitted Schumer didn’t cause it.
Actually Trump was giving the moron Cummings a little cover by suggesting he wanted to meet but Chuckie didn’t want him to....
So basically by denying the Chuckie part of the story, he’s admits he is a coward to meet with Trump...
