A Maryland Democratic congressman says Donald Trump invented part of a story on Thursday about a planned meeting between the two men that never happened.
During a White House press conference, the president said Rep. Elijah Cummings was scheduled to sit down with him but canceled because of pressure from Democratic leaders who are concerned about political appearances.
'I actually thought I had a meeting with Congressman Cummings. And he was all excited,' Trump told reporter April Ryan – who, like Cummings, is a vocal advocate for African-Americans.
'And then he said, "Oh, I can't move – it might be bad for me politically. I can't have that meeting." I was all set to have the meeting," the president claimed.

Yep, I just watched it and he said “I don’t know, what probably happened was someone like Chuck Schumer told him not to...”. Now since Cummings is in the House it would more likely be Pelosi or someone else, but Trump specifically said he didn’t know, he was just making a guess.
And if anyone questions Congressman Cummings, they can expect an IRS audit!
Why should we even have a black caucus?
Trump has shined the light on Cummings. If Cummings doesn’t meet it looks like he is under Shumers thumb.
Trump has goals, the goal is to start talking and solve problems.

Cummings would not say “sh*t” if his mouth were full of it. The man is a pig, and even looks like one. Cummings is not a good representative for his constituency, simply because he is caught tying to seek historic justice for the past against today’s America, none of whom were alive when the alleged sins against black Americans happened.
Cummings has a field hand mentality, stuck in the past, and he can’t pull his head out of his ass to see that President Trump is a man who could solve a lot of Black America’s issues.According to that field hand mentality,President Trump does not have a sufficient pedigree to solve those problems, they must be solved by someone who has that chip on their shoulder of the classic field hand politician, a distinguishing factor which pre-empts anything being done to accomplish the solutions necessary.
Cummings is guilty of the very racism that he himself rails against. In all truth he is still back in the cane fields, chopping wildly about himself with a machete and getting no where.
Trump was quite right to call Cummings out, and he did a magnificent job at shaming the idiot. Maybe that shame will conquer Cummings’ prejudice against America, but I doubt it.Its people like Cummings that Trump must leave in his dust, and despite them do the necessary things to solve the various issues facing the inner city war zones of America.

Yep, he was speculating, and he made it clear that’s what he was doing. Probably trying to offer Cummings an out.
It was more of a jab at Schumer than Cummins.
You are correct. I heard the question and answer. President Trump was CLEARLY speculating as to why Congressman Cummings did not meet with the President after a couple of invitations. Cummings is a anti-Trump Congressional Black Caucus leader as well as one of Princess Pelosi’s henchmen. He will NOT do anything good for his constituents that is not backed by a Democrapt president and a Democrapt controlled house and senate.
If you listen to Trump, it is clear that he was speculating on why Cummings canceled. No SCANDAL here, LOL!
