‘I am ashamed’ — Store owner who voted for Trump closes amid ‘Day Without Immigrants’

Rahban Algazali of San Leandro regrets the decision he made Nov. 8, which his friends and family have not let him forget.

After the Yemen native and Muslim American voted for Donald Trump, and after Trump tried to ban citizens of several majority-Muslim countries from entering the U.S., Algazali sent a rather ordinary photo of his son dressed in traditional Yemeni garb to family members.

Seriously doubt he voted for Trump.

If he did, he probably wouldn’t broadcast it.

And if he did, he certainly has no convictions.

I hope people across the country are keeping lists of the businesses that are closing in support of illegal aliens. The lists should be posted widely on social media.

The word “immigrant” has always meant those in the country legally. When we say the US is a nation of immigrants we are saying our forefathers entered the US legally.

If one entered the US illegally, they should not be called “immigrant.”

Of course illegal aliens in the current era have commandeered the word just as homosexuals have taken the word “gay” from usual usage.
