3 great, great grandparents, 6 great grandparents and 3 grandparents all immigrated to this country within the last 110 years, and my wife immigrated 18 years ago. All of them legally. My wife is now a citizen, as were about 3/4 of the others mentioned. They all learned English (some better than others, as is natural), they all paid their taxes, none of them were criminals (well, except for my maternal grandfather making some bathtub booze during Prohibition, but he didn’t sell it) - in short, they did it the right way. BTW, that same grandfather volunteered for the Army at age 35 in 1942, when he could have stayed home easily...he wanted to repay and contribute to this country.

I, too, have no problem with immigrants - so long as they are legal coming in, and abide by our laws once here (and I don’t care much about truly victimless crimes).

I am CERTAIN that Donald Trump feels exactly the same way. HIS grandparents immigrated, HIS mother immigrated, and TWO of his wives immigrated (plus one daughter-in-law???). He has employed thousands of immigrants, and rented to thousands. He doesn’t oppose immigrants, just criminal leeches from other countries - we have enough native-born criminal leeches without importing them, thank you very much.

More than that, I believe. We were at about 130 million during WW2, and we’re at roughly 320 now. Yes, we should probably limit it quite a bit, but not a complete stop. Let’s take a 5 or 10-year breather, get our economy straightened out, our unemployed reemployed as much as possible, and make sure that we can vet ANYONE, from ANY country, very well once we open the doors again.

Trump is re-industrializing us. I think that people will see, over the next few years, the advantages in quality of the goods, and in the quality of life. Maybe I’m wrong, and if I am then maybe we shut the doors, but I don’t think that this is advantageous just yet.

If it is on the North (or South) American Continent, and descended from Homo Sapiens Sapiens, it is an immigrant. Some just got here earlier than others.
