You know what concerned me MORE than Trump's style, the fact that I WAS 'put off' by it. I faced the fact that even I( and other conservatives too, no doubt) have been affected by the toxic PC mentality ! I loved WHAT he was saying but HOW he was saying it made me cringe a little. I was horrified to realize that and ashamed to admit it! Are we so conditioned by PC that not only do we, who HATE it, self-censor, but reflexively feel strong, plain spoken truth is disquieting? It IS! We are SO far from what Trump is, and what this whole country USED to be, that some part of us actually FEARS a strong,blunt,America first President! It's terrifying to think that! I am not a Sheeple, I know we need-and thank God for- a fierce guard dog.-no matter how ugly our defense gets!
The fact is, the dangerous world leaders are pit bulls-ours has to be too!

I worked at 39th and Third in Manhattan. There was a classic hardware store (my fetish) down the street run by two brothers. Bins full of hardware. Sliding ladders. Oh, that aroma!

You'd go in and ask for a hammer (or what ever). One brother would ask you what you need it for. "Hanging pictures on the wall". As one brother would lead you to the hammer you need, the other, who was eaves dropping, would start to argue with his brother why in the Hell he was suggesting this or that hammer. I used to go into the store to watch the two brothers.

The best part was they would put the key in the door every evening and go for dinner together as if nothing happened between them.

Excellent post, great points. I think a lot of people think they know what Presidential is. We were all grateful for the Bushes after Clinton. But at least Poppy Bush was evil as Hillary, if not more, but sooooooo genteel and classy in public. And Trump isn’t horribly boorish; he’s just plain spoken and direct. Earthy. I think it’s from growing up in Jewish Queens.

did some research on the length, height, and depth of the student loan mess two weeks ago and am still not better. That by itself is beyond bad and probably beyond words.

Only way I could get my head around it: In 2008, Paulson figured mortgage defaults would be 700B nationally. Today, looking at all brands of default, student loan defaults are at $728B. Between default, forgiveness, forebearance, and deference it’s $728B. No collateral.

Grad rate across the board (measured as the SIX year graduation rate from FOUR year programs) - 58%.

You are correct and it is really bad. However, people wrongly believe that all of these loans were taken by students actually attending class. That is not completely true...... many students took the loans, pocketed the money, and never went to class. Free stuff.
