Romney, the Bushes, Kerry, and Obama are examples of how an outward veneer of good manners and civility hide incompetence and deviousness. Bill Clinton did not have as much polish, but he hid his devious and corrupt nature behind a likeable good old boy façade. McCain built a career on neither of these areas, but on his long captivity by the North Vietnamese. Al Gore and especially Hillary Clinton lacked the degree of social skills that the others had.

Trump is the first President or major party Presidential candidate since Reagan to combine real character with an effective communications style. However, the level of opposition he faces from the uniparty and the deep state is exponentially higher than what Reagan faced. Trump has overcome a lot so far; pray that he continue his winning record. Other than Israel and maybe England, he does not have any real overseas allies.

Brilliant! If that’s not the post of the day, I don’t know what would be.

Having had eight years of a dignified president with an exemplary family life, people are hungry for the pleasures of scandal. And finally—

What's to discuss? Miss Manners is a #NeverTrumper.

Who the hell is she talking about? 0BAMA???

That creepy faggot with the bitchy wookie for a "wife" and a couple of perpetually disgruntled spawn was hardly an example of "dignified". "Exemplary"? Exemplary of what, exactly? A bad example is as "exemplary" as a good example.

“Having had eight years of a dignified president with an exemplary family life, people are hungry for the pleasures of scandal.”

“Exemplary family life”???

What does anyone know of Obama’s family life? And does an exemplary family life, even if true, entitle Obama to destroy the United States without even a little criticism?

What is scandalous about Trump’s family?

I noticed that too. Obama was arrogant, not dignified.

were more than willing to look past his many faults in order to WIN.

It's not that we looked past them--his faults--we judged them on their merit and in many ways, with forgiveness. We didn't allow the media to define him, knowing that many former Presidents and candidates have said things they would probably regret as an older, more mature person. It's just that the media overlooked other foibles.

“... people are hungry for the pleasures of scandal.”

We would definitely have gotten scandal after scandal with Hillary and the Clinton Crime Family (although the lamestreams would have ignored them all, of course).

The fact that she is addressing it now does not necessarily indicate she thinks it began under Trump; rather, I believe she feels the problem of bad manners has reached such an apogee, that the subject can no longer be avoided.
In ordinary times, when expressions of vulgarity and rudeness were less frequent and almost never physically threatening, the proper response was The Snub-—in the form of an icy, perplexed stare, and a sudden recollection of more pressing matters elsewhere, forever.
This is still the response which should be employed whenever possible; Miss Manners admonishes us that responding rudely to another’s rudeness is never, ever acceptable.
In today’s context, however, one may presume, that should it become necessary, in self defense, to go full auto on a crowbar-wielding Hillarybot, one should do so calmly and regretfully, making one’s best effort to avoid collateral damage to those who are not wielding crowbars and can thus be effectively snubbed as they run for their lives.
Spraying all of them would be an ostentatious display; subtlety and self restraint are always a mark of good breeding.
