I am surprised. If the Asplundh family is involved personally, I would be shocked. They are quite conservative. Sounds like a rogue VP and some managers doing their own thing. My father in law was a VP in Iowa for many years. He has since passed on. He would be rolling over in his grave. Of course, that’s been years ago.....so who knows anymore. It’s probably not the company it used to be.
I worked directly for the Asplundhs for 10 years. I know Larry well. I also know all the regional managers. The manager has to deal with huge turnover, largely because no one wants to work in the elements for crappy pay.
