You're a liar or incompetent. Construction layout people will relocate for 102K/yr ($49/hr X 2080 hr/work-year). There is not one construction trade that pays that much. Not one. You should have zero problems finding people. None.

My son is graduating college next year. He tells me he expects to start at $40k/yr. So college grads make 40% of what an unskilled flag man makes and you are having a hard time finding people? Riiiiiight.

Good construction people make a lot more money than people with a degree in French Literature.

"They should look at S&N Communications, contractor for Verizon. They had a crew of Guatemalans dig up my yard putting their Fios fiber optic in. I know they were Guatemalans because I went out and asked them."

Not surprised. We had a lot of trouble when Verizon was installing our fiber optic cable. The crew kept screwing it up, and none of them spoke English. I complained vehemently to Verizon and told them to get an English speaking crew out to fix the mess. They did.

Maybe because Minnesota is just one jacked up state. Look at them and their Somali welfare programs. The state demands the payrates, and the contractors want open borders to undercut the requirements. The contractors in Minnesota are just as bad as their state government and the border jumpers!!!!

Your state sucks. You’re not helping the problem.

Asplundh employees should go to jail for crimes against nature– they’re absolute careless butchers who don’t give a fnck what homeowners think or what damage they do...

Given that a lot of them were hunting tree monkeys with blowguns 6 weeks ago, it's not surprising.

It's not just a question of 'the environment'. Their 'work' is as bad as graffiti or litter. It actively makes the public esthetic worse. It turns simple trees into blight. If I were King for a day those guys would be eating tree bark for lunch.

Look up the Davis Bacon Act. Look up the prevailing wage rates in your state. You can see for yourself what the government forces every contractor to pay.
