President Trump on Wednesday said he will not push for a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
During a joint press conference at the White House with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, an Israeli reporter asked: "Mr. President, in your vision for the new Middle East peace, are you ready to give up the notion of two-state solution adopted by previous administrations?"

This is good to hear.
There is no such thing as negotiating with the Palestinians. There is no such state a Palestinian state. And they lie and don’t negotiate in good faith anyway. No good deals would come out. It would be like a Chamberlain deal. Good on paper, but a total lie.
I have lost track of who was for the two state solution in his inner circle. Probably Reince.
How can Israel negotiate w/a group of people who call for the annihilation of the Jews?

When have the Palestinians ever negotiated. When did they ever fulfill any commitments agreed too?
I watched a travel show a while back with Rick Steves. He toured The Holy Land and did a remarkable job of keeping politics OUT of it, even while interviewing Jewish young and middle-aged people living there. The, ‘future’ as it were.
The Israel side is just beautiful - productive, modern, clean, educated people, well landscaped...and the other side of the wall? Third World Hellhole. You could give the Palies all the land they wanted and it would be an even bigger disaster area.
It was a stark contrast that I had envisioned but had never really seen with my own eyes.
I’m sure you could find it on YouTube, or check your PBS listings for his show.
Netanyahu doesn't want either. Abbas doesn't want a one state. I can't see where this goes.
Two state, one state......... Can you say never ending stalemate?
There is another solution, messy but effective:
Declare the conquered territory a frontier. Create semi-autonomous agencies or reservations.
Land pockets of Palestinian or Israeli settlements that roughly conform to the existing occupying populations.
Each pocket could be conditionally self-governing with its own security forces or federal-based forces. There could be a constitutional guarantee of basic rights, court system, travel, employment, health care, etc.
The unoccupied areas could be designated as agricultural or herding set asides for nearby reservations.
That way Israel could militarily control the general area of Judea and Samaria, create a political and legal status for occupants of the conquered areas and obtain some sense of governance for all the peoples there.
The Palestinians actually are for a one-state solution also.
Their idea for a one-state solution, is no Israel.
Any “negotiating” on their part would be for their plan for a one-state solution.

“Ok, how about negotiate a deal, let’s compromise, how about half then?”
People who will hate Trump if he keeps this promise or that promise will hate him anyway.
He just needs to stand firm and push through on his campaign promises.
One of which was the promise that he will move the US Embassy to Jerusalem.
He didn’t say that he would like to move it.
He said he would move it.
So get the design team moving and let out the contracts!

You are correct. This is the best solution. The Israelis have the most to lose, they are surrounded. Let them make the call, and we should support them.
