Sad what they've done to the conformation of German Shepherds.

Their backs used to be strong and straight when they were first bred. Now rounded.

This is true, but there are lines that have a straight back and breeders who breed for it, you just won’t find them in the show dogs. Mine are all straight back and sturdy like a table :)
