Not hard to do, actually. All he has to do is adjust the deductions on his W-4 to about 10 or so (You can adjust your W-4 at any time during the year) . Of course, as others are saying, he'll eventually pay the piper even if he stops filing.

But...
I know a guy who adjusted his W-4 to 6, and after one full tax year, his company was sent a threatening letter and ordered to withhold on him as if he was single with no deductions. There was mention of a fine, a deadline to respond, etc.
Oh yeah...I’m the guy.
So I repeat “Good look getting your employer to take zilch out of your check.”
But that's only getting away with it. Maybe. I'm neither a lawyer nor accountant, so YMMV.
