Billionaire Elon Musk is known for his futuristic ideas and his latest suggestion might just save us from being irrelevant as artificial intelligence (AI) grows more prominent.

The Tesla and SpaceX CEO said on Monday that humans need to merge with machines to become a sort of cyborg.

>>Because our purpose in life is to stay relevant.

In Post-Modernist thought (the latest incarnation of Naturalism), staying relevant literally is your purpose in life. This is because they believe that we have no intrinsic value. We are just cosmic dust that forms and goes back to dust for our next iteration as a continuous line of repurposed matter.

Musk's point is accurate in one way. Some humans will merge with machines. It is already happening.

Whether those who don't will become irrelevant is another matter.

That said, this is one of the biggest reasons to recognize that we are in the Biblical End Times.

Elon wants eternal life, but he wants it his way, not God’s way.

So says a billionaire. Whatever.

I hear the UAW is trying to organize in his Tesla factory. I almost hope they succeed and make his biz as decrepit as GM.

Musk is just another leech on our treasury and he is also an idiot...I personally have been collecting every non-computerized item i can get hold of...from pumps to lanterns to vehicles...think about this for a second....IF the cars and trucks made since the early seventies with the introduction of computers are SO GREAT....why are mechanics bays still full to the brim?...My 1971 International Harvester truck runs like a conventional well built vehicle should...points and condenser and tires that can be changed roadside with two screwdrivers (split locking ring rims)...so who is the wiser ?...a tax sucking scumbag “Musk” or the team of engineneers that designed a vehicle that is on the road legally 46 years later?....the arrogance of this punk is beyond my patience.

everyone here misses the fact that this is already happening, just not in the way you expected.

Our smart phones have already become part of our extended memory and knowledge base that supplements our brain. The technology to control computers using only our brain is already here and in use for paralytics as well as replacement limbs for amputees that are superior to real ones.

we are surrounded by robots but don’t realize it because they don’t look like the ones we expected from watching movies. I have a robot that washes my dishes, it’s called a dishwasher. I have another that washes my clothes and a different one that dries them, they are called my washer and dryer. I have a robot that wakes me up in the morning, it’s called a clock, and another that turns on and off my air conditioner, it’s called a thermostat, ect.

All of these things are robots, they are just specialty robots designed to do a particular thing, but it wont stay that way for much longer. Technology will continue to leap forward and eventually a robot like we imagined will sweep the world as fast as smart phones did.

What a total load of crapola.
++++
I’m not so sure. I’ve merged and it’s not so bad. Currently I have my ear buds plugged into my head at the ears and an iPhone bonded permanently to my left hand that accepts voice commands.

Sleeping is a little tough sometimes but the convenience (and the power) makes it worth it. I can post to FR even while sleeping. Sometimes the results aren’t great, but I’m still in the experimental stage with that project.

Right now I’m looking into getting into a pair Gyro Balance Mono Wheels to up my walking speed to 6 MPH from the current 2.1.

You first Elon.

Oh, and you have to use random batteries pulled off your company’s production line to power yourself...
