After I looked at the map I realized it was too far north for the winter produce.

The silt may eventually help but if it floods big the infrastructure will be damaged.

I agree it’s a dumb question. That I got over, and over and over again because I lived in South Mississippi when Katrina hit. The anger directed at those who “choose to live in an area prone to hurricanes” from other freepers was staggering.

>Reagan was governor of California when this dam was built. He dedicated it when it opened.

Reagan is dead. The morons running CA need to maintain that which they won’t. All CA money goes to illegals, islamos, lazy state “workers” and graft.

It ain’t Regan’s fault CA is filthy criminal and leftist scum now.

So, if the level is now dropping below the spillway, then everything will be ok? That sounds good.

Question is, will the state finally invest in this thing so this doesn't get so close to being a disaster in the future?

I understand. There’s great farmland in South Mississippi and Louisiana as well. Also a lot of big shipyards and docks that people work at. Guess where they have to live. Guess who got slammed for living there after Katrina.

http://www.mercurynews.com/2017/02/12/oroville-residents-told-to-evacuate-spillway-failure-imminent/

“At 770 feet tall, the structure that holds back the Feather River is taller than the Washington Monument and as thick as 10 football fields at its base. Lake Oroville, at 10 miles long, is the second largest reservoir in California behind Shasta Lake.”

POSTER on another thread reported the following...

“News feed ...

LIGHTS on dam have gone dark.”

Is this something to be concerned about?

Speaking of Shasta, at 4.5 million acre feet.

It’s at 96% of capacity and they have slowed down releases to 49,000cfs to take some pressure off the Sacramento River...just in case.

But with big storms starting Wednesday night, that can’t persist. They will have to open it up.

This could cause a bit of a traffic jam where the American River meets the Sacramento river...and send it all south to Sacramento.

Sacramento metropolitan area is 2.5 million.

Truckee Meadows flooded and it’s going to get worse again in about a week. Not one MSM peep when the Truckee River crested just below the bridge pavement, the mudslides on Interstate 80, etc.

Not until “Moonbeam” gets his hands on the FEMA money he just begged Trump for.
