Strangest I’ve ever heard was Vietnamese boat people who had learned English in Alabama. A woman who once cut my hair was one of them. It was fun to listen to her, but you really had to focus to pull the meaning out of it. There was always the looming threat of it starting to sound like authentic southern backcountry gibberish if you weren’t paying very close attention.
