We were at our favorite ranch in the Central Valley (we have property up in the hills there) and a certain lib family member and spouse were going to go for a run, wearing their Obama symbol t shirts. The local cowboy drawled, very casually, “ya know, people been shot for less around here...”

Hey. The state is GORGEOUS right now. All the hills are green. If we had a bit of rain each winter and late spring, we could have a green state for 9 months a year.

If you spend all your time planning for emergencies you forget to actually take care of everyday business. And half the time your emergency plans go to crap because just the wrong freeway collapses.

Considering the mental insanity and moral repugnance of the majority of CA - I’d say it’s Divine Judgement that’s just the beginning.

Amen to that, vette. If you and I are thinking
about the same poster then it is the same person that
stated that the State of Jefferson movement in
California is none of his/her concern. I submit that if
the secession the state can attract his/her attention on
a regular basis then the preservation of a conservative
portion of the state as a continuing part of the US
should also be of interest. I think that the animosity
this poster and a number of others have regarding
California goes beyond politics. It causes them to
lump millions of conservative Californians in with
the liberal majority.

Large water reservoirs have been known to trigger earthquakes, as they fill up. California had a lot of near-empty reservoirs, until the recent flooding started. The weight of the additional water can cause tectonic plates to shift.
