The D.C. police are investigating a possible assault against Education Secretary Betsy DeVos when she was blocked from entering a local middle school Friday morning.
The police department tweeted one man had been arrested for assaulting a police officer at the protest at Jefferson Middle School Academy.
"Report that @BetsyDeVos was assaulted is under investigation," the account tweeted.

First thing I noted when DeVos exited the building, she looked very concerned.
She needs a SS detail
I’d characterize the entire event as an assault.
It’s battery when they actually touch you.
Assault is the aggressive approach.
How about a name and a mug shot?
Is the critter an intern or a Federal employee?
Is the critter a member of SEIU?
Time for law and order once again in this Country. Build more jails. Lock up the violent protesters and the ones blocking traffic. Charge with felonies. So sick of these thugs.
People typically do not get assaulted during protests. People DO typically get assaulted during riots. This is clear evidence of the pollution of our language.
Leftists are burning words now, instead of entire books.
So.... go have a gay old time, like Fred Flintstone would do.... Unless you are culturally appropriating a stone-aged man.
When some of these Social Justice Warriors get locked up in the DC Jail or Lorton this activity will come to a stop pretty quickly.
By a white hipster-looking fatso with a “Black Lives Matter” sign. Would love to see him get even 6 months in the D.C. jail.
I’m sensing that we may see a mass series of these events all over the country.
Protests and assaults on businesses on a large scale.
I was in the middle of one 3 weeks ago at the company I work for. Protestors against the oil pipeline don’t like my company doing business with pipeline contractors.
Or preventing her freedom of movement, of going about her business.
It is long past time for these a-holes to be locked up for impeding law-abiding citizens going about their productive days. It’s not just DeVos. It is about the common man and woman being impacted by this crap. Protest all you want on the sidewalk as long as you do not impede people, I have done lots of that in my time. Once you block the streets or the legal movement of pedestrians, it is time for the handcuffs to come out. And if needed, the nightsticks.
Get rid of the entire Department of Education. Problem solved.
Build Sheriff Arpaio type tent cities by the southern border. The inmates can do preliminary work on the wall.
Union thugs. Of course the media won’t say as much.

Yes she did, and justifiably so.
Time to make an example of these entitled ruffians. How they're dealt with is probably up to the local jurisdictions.
I guess it is heartening that DC authorities are handling the inauguration day rioters with some seriousness, charging them with felonies and possibly making them do real prison time (but I'll believe it when I see it).
No question that she was assaulted.
