In Germany I was the bailiff at a court martial once. Army major accused of DWI. Not his first.
He was busted down to E-6, which actually I thought was an insult to the NCO Corps, and allowed to retire.
A few months later I saw him flipping burgers at the Burger King on Post. - LOL!!

A case a few years back with a USN SCPO who was accused of pilfering money from the Chiefs Mess and misappropriating supplies and such aboard ship.
The ‘Prosecutor’ was laying out the charges and kept referring to the SCPO as ‘E8’ and finally the ‘Defense Atty’ objected to his client not being referred to as ‘Senior Chief’ etc.
The ‘Judge’ ruled that ANYONE that stole from his shipmates, especially something as personal as the ‘Chiefs Mess’ didn’t deserve to be referred to as a CPO in the USN’.
Today the SOB would probably ‘win’ a case of him being ‘disgraced’ and ‘slandered’.
