An MQ-9 Predator soars high above the camp, the camera in its sensor ball fixed on the Islamic State fighters below. The foot soldiers are unloading rocket-propelled grenades and artillery shells from the backs of pickup trucks, likely unaware of the American unmanned aircraft overhead. Still, their fear of prying aerial eyes is noticeable as they stretch tarps across vehicles to obscure their shapes from above.
This ISIS encampment is one of several in the desert southwest of the Libyan city of Sirte. Late last year, U.S. warplanes helped local forces drive ISIS from the city. Some of those fighters have regrouped in these camps, others have gathered here from elsewhere. There are more than 100 Islamic State fighters spread across these sites.
It's mid-January and the presidency is days away from a change in administration. The U.S. ended combat in Sirte a month earlier. Now, ISIS fighters are regrouping in a familiar place when they feel safe from U.S. intervention.
They are mistaken.

AFRICOM: “That's classified. But we used two B-2 Spirit stealth bombers, flying all the way from the USA, and dropped 160 500 lb. smart bombs on each and every MF hut and head. Any who were still moving we hit again.”
Libyans: “F-ing A! Outstanding! We'll get you a case of beer for THAT.”
AFRICOM: “Copy That!

Vladamir Putin: “As though we need to be reminded. If the US is willing and able to task and deploy its most sophisticated assets on a $13 million mission to take out 100 ISIS fighters in the freakin’ dessert, its pretty obvious they could lay the wood on US if we f@ck with them, especially now that Trump is President.
“But thank God Trump IS President instead of that knuckleheaded warhawk, Hillary Clinton.”

The big bombers hold a LOT more bombs. My theory? Obama set up this camp with US assets to train his allies and this raid was to cover his tracks.
AFRICOM wanted the loiter time. That’s all I can tell ya. They wanted that package.
Good point. He wasn’t trying to kill American enemies. He was only covering up his connections. All those other strikes against al Qaeda and ISIS during his failed presidency are fake news.
With the Democrat black robes letting every possible terrorist into our country, it is wrong to put the name of the base out for everyone to see.

I live in central MO and have the pleasure of seeing Spirits and tankers over head quite often. I say a prayer for the air crews and their mission. It is a cool thing when I see one on a tanker with another in trail at fairly low altitude on the other hand, the A10s sliding around the Ozark hills going to/from the air range at Fort L Wood often makes me remember them tearing up targets in front of me in far away places....
