I’m sure the wall needs to be built, but let’s not kid ourselves. We’re not making Mexico pay for it by putting a tariff (tax) on their imports because Mexico doesn’t pay for our tariffs. The American consumer does. Under that scenario, the American consumer pays for the wall. Maybe that’s OK.
The wall needs to be built and unless Mexico is somehow cowed into handing over some or all of the $21 billion, the American consumer will pay for it. So be it.
A tariff on Mexican goods will result in lower and slower sales of their goods.
They will then be forced to accept they are paying, one way or the other....
Be faster to write a check and be done with it....

Tariffs are great. We need a lot more of them and massive income tax cuts.
