Are you concerned that Neil Gorsuch belongs to a far-left church?

... like the kind of church that Donald Trump went to will tell you what kind of president you will get?

It does look kind of odd, kind of weird. But the possibility that truth may transcend formal churching may be one reason why we don’t have formal religious tests.

What kind of church does Clarence Thomas go to? Might be different parish, but isn’t it the same denomination?

I was thinking more along this line.

That went pretty deep and explicit into the hate.

A church that tries to love, even if its love is sloppy, would seem to be far less of a menace.

And anyhow, back to the concern at hand.

The tone of what is secularly acceptable could, in fact, change. But it seems to me that the answer for businesses whose owners don’t want to be forced into this scenario is for them to become explicitly religious operations. Then “secular” florists might (even though I wouldn’t ever advocate for that) continue to be subject to this, but alert Christian proprietors would open “sacred” florist operations. There are already numerous parallels.

In fact, just like there are florist associations already, how about something like a union of sacred florists. They would have a well vetted creed. Churches might view them as parachurch ministries.

Maybe the Christians who have been shouting about standing up and being counted need to actually commit themselves to doing just that. Sometimes God’s granting of a wish looks like hard work.

I’ve also seen a number of mainstream churches “go gay.”

Our immediate “normal” impulse upon seeing this would be to damn them to hell, maybe after the most generous of us barked at them a few times to stop the wicked behavior and found that they didn’t.

But looking for an unusual back story as I constantly am, I wonder if all if this is due to arbitrary wickedness, or if we have a situation like the “worthless men” who followed the exiled king David during his exile. People who do want to come to God, but who also sense that their willpower is not up to the task of cleaning up a licentious lifestyle.

What they have actually sensed in such a case would be the truth. There’s a lot of churches out there that are hypocrite churches. Their way of living isn’t out of love to God and neighbor, but out of fear of what people think.

The true answer to this is to be a “missionary to the gays.” As the bible would put it, “To the gays, I was gay, except without buggery.”

COULD NEIL GORSUCH BE SUCH A MISSIONARY?

I think we’d want to investigate this. He might be another hidden treasure, far from a traitor, in the vein of “Reparative Therapy” Mike Pence. And this hypothesis actually seems to make some sense, given Gorsuch’s otherwise impeccable conservative credentials.

And I would suggest that if we see a number of Solomonic decisions and opinions from Gorsuch, the chances are a lot higher that he’s such a person as I have posited.

Let’s not shoot everything that moves in enemy territory before determining just what those things are.

I do care about gays. I want to see them overcome the demons to whom they (in most cases) have so long yielded, that it has become second nature to them. This age might be the age in which this will occur. It has already served Donald Trump up to us, quite an unusual (and yet capable) steward of a robust American renewal. What did we do differently to get Donald Trump? I would say, we did nothing differently (on a secular plane)! We didn’t do anything that hadn’t gotten us George W. Bush and the failed McCain and Romney. God did something. Maybe people finally prayed enough because the usual Republican formulae were not working and we had run out of secular options.

Let’s check this guy out real good and be ready for news that is good, rather than bad.

AND.. (it’s almost as if a train of thought is coupling itself together)... would this be the FIRST time that Neil moved to the good in enemy territory?

I would say not. He got that conservative political club (whatever it was actually called — IIRC something like the sarcastic Fascist Club?) going in his high school. Already we see a rebel here, but a good rebel.

Let’s check the fellow out by all means. Unusual conduct does beg an explanation. But let’s not ass-u-me the explanation is a bad one.
