You would think that Goldberg could at least place Trump’s comments in context that Trump is soon going to meet with Putin and it wouldn’t be wise to alienate him because the US needs Putin in any dealings with Iran. So no, Trump did not throw the US under a bus, but maybe Goldberg needs to get a job as a busboy.

I believe in American exceptionalism, hell, I wrote what I think is the ONLY really good definition of it in “A Patriot’s History of the Modern World.” But JFK had the CIA try to assassinate Castro, and DID assassinate Diem. There are plenty of others the US was implicated in.

Unfortunately Trump is correct. Since the end of WWII, the US has a history of using political assassination, fomenting rebellion, and instigating regime changes in sovereign nations in order to advance our own foreign policy interests. These so called conservatives are really just shills for the War Party bought and paid for by the military industrial complex.
