Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg: I would back changing the Electoral College
The Hill ^ | 02/07/2017 | BY MARK HENSCH

Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg says she would support changing the Electoral College.

“There are some things I would like to change, one is the Electoral College,” she said late Monday at Stanford Law School in California, according to CNN.

“But that would require a constitutional amendment, and amending our Constitution is powerfully hard to do,” she added.

Ginsburg also lamented partisan divisions in Congress, which she said hurt the confirmation process for justices. “I wish there was a way I could wave a magic wand and put back when people were respectful of each other and the Congress was working for the good of the country and not just along party lines,” she said.

“Someday there will be great people, great elected representatives who will say, ‘enough of this nonsense, let’s be the kind of legislature the United States should have,’” the 83-year-old judge added. "I hope that day will come when I’m still alive.”

Ginsburg’s remarks follow President Trump’s nomination of Judge Neil Gorsuch to fill the Supreme Court’s vacancy left by the death of Justice Antonin Scalia. Gorsuch sits on Colorado’s 10th Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals.

Would it be so hard to have all judges, elected officials and government workers take a yearly test on the Constitution? Subject to removal from position if three strikes in a row.

Better to change it so no state/district controls more than 5% of the total. Think Cali, FL, etc.

Five years ago, almost to the day, Justice Ginsberg had this to say,

“... visited Cairo last week where she suggested Egyptian revolutionaries not use the U.S. Constitution as a model in the post-Arab Spring.

“I would not look to the U.S. Constitution, if I were drafting a constitution in the year 2012,” Ginsburg said in an interview on Al Hayat television last Wednesday. “I might look at the constitution of South Africa. That was a deliberate attempt to have a fundamental instrument of government that embraced basic human rights, have an independent judiciary. It really is, I think, a great piece of work that was done.”

I’d like to track down the Freeper who first pointed out that Sotomayor bears a striking resemblance to former Panamanian dictator Manuel Noriega. LMAO.

She means like how respectful the dhimmis were to Judge Thomas.

And I'm sure she has serious concerns about the way they viciously destroyed Judge Robert Bork.

Well, at least Ruth Buzzi knows that it’ll take a constitutional amendment...

“She actually admitted the eugenics motivations of Roe v Wade. Stating that it was thought at the time certain groups in society should not procreate.”

Oh how HItlarian of you Ruthie. I guess you’ve forgotten about the Holocaust in your zeal to destroy our Republic. Time to “move on” tootsie.

It's good to want things, as long as you don't dwell on them...

She should've retired a long time ago, but was too stubborn, and was holding out for Hillary.

And so, it could be President Trump will be picking her replacement.

Or President Pence

Given her questionable intellect, she’d also back the statement that 2+2=6 (for large values of 2).

so much for her oath of office. The political activist so called judges that are currently on the SCOTUS need to be removed and starting with Justice Roberts.

And exactly when was that time?

Rush, we are not surprised that the GOP establishment is not supporting us. We expected that. We voted for Trump precisely because he stood up to the political establishment in Washington. It is Trump and his supporters standing in the way of total annihilation of our country. We won’t surrender, we won’t give up. We’ll fire back(literally) if necessary.

That only works until the first Latino anchor baby is nominated to the Supreme Court with no birth records from his/her home country to verify their age.
