Federal appeals court decides to schedule a hearing on Trump travel order
Washington Post ^ | Feb. 6, 2017 | Matt Zapotosky

A federal appeals court will hear arguments Tuesday on whether to restore President Trump’s controversial immigration order, marking a critical juncture for the president’s directive temporarily barring refugees and those from seven Muslim-majority countries from entering the United States.

The hearing, which will be conducted by telephone, is to review an order by a lower court judge to put Trump’s directive on hold.

It was scheduled just as Justice Department lawyers made their final written pitch to immediately restore the president’s order — and as tech companies, law professors and former high-ranking national security officials joined a mushrooming legal campaign to keep the measure suspended.

Absolutely, which is what I hope he does. I’m beyond tired of black-robed tyrants making laws and ruling from their unelected perches. What a perfect time to put a stop to this tyrannical bs once and for all.

You said you’d make this country great again, here’s a great place to start. Do your lawful duty, stop immigration for health, safety, and economic stability of the country, and tell these tyrant Judges to enforce their damn orders.

How about we just have a national Purge of liberal leaders day.

One day, like the Purge movie, except we get rid of the virulently liberal professors, journalists, rioters, judges, actors, singers, politicians, community organizers, and billionaire Nazi supporters who fund these people.

Mass pardon from the president the day following.

Then we try this whole immigration issue again to see if we need a second purge day.

Ok. I’m venting. But these people need to understand conservatives are tired of dealing with liberals.

The People have spoken. We want Trump to do what he said he would do.

We don’t want the mass importation of Islamiscists, liberals, those depending on government assistance, or the perpetually aggrieved.

We don’t want socialized medicine.

We don’t want homosexual marriage forced upon us as an innate right subjecting private citizens to lawsuit abuse.

We don’t want our money spent to abort babies.

We don’t want election fraud. We want voter ID laws. We want checks and balances. And we want to keep the electoral college as a hedge against mass fraud.

We are open to an amicable divorce from liberals. If not, we are reluctantly willing to go to war. Literally.

We took their abuse patiently for the past 8 years. We’re not going to keep taking it.

Enough is enough.

A hearing conducted by telephone? How often is this done?

I questioned this, also.

Did those tech companies and law professors oppose similar suspensions of immigration, under 6-7 previous Presidents, and recently under the Obama administration?

SCORE:

Liberals 1
Trump 100 (at least)

Conservative revolution has just begun.

The bench is entrenched. Cannot drain the swamp overnight therefore will not win them all.

But we are still winning. Big league.

Stay grateful and optimistic

speaking of the global economy-the corporate fascists are not letting the kiddos in our school system wither on the vine. they are not to be educated but trained and hence the growth of charters. this model knocks out parental voices-school boards are appointed.

There should be no appeal to the Supreme Court until Gorsuch is seated. I am assuming all the intervening courts will stab the nation in the back. Trump’s team will take their time.

“...even with the Turtle’s desultory Senate calendar...”

This is a load of crap and things are progressing in due course. McConnell is moving things as best can be done in the face of Rat obstructions.

More BS. “Are we there yet?” “No, it will be another hundred miles” “Are we there yet?” “No, it is another 99 miles.”

Some of you people are just looking for something to complain about.

Actually, what you wrote is a load of crap, and I am amazed that anyone would waste electrons, oxygen and space defending an old self-aggrandizing RINO. We aren't just trying to fix one party around here. The RINOs have done us no favors either. pens when a real senate majority leader moves things along. And, for instance, folks like Cornyn are beginning to feel some heat from his constituents to get things moving: GOP warns: We'll stay in session 24-7 to confirm Trump nominees. McConnell is just being the same old slow-rolling self-aggrandizing RINO we have all come to know and love.

This is the score card

Your deception won’t work. There was little or no opposition to Obama’s nominees, a completely different situation than now.

On the other hand you complain about the Republican “Establishment” i.e. (anyone who gets elected to anything) yet point to Bush’s nominees which those of your ilk complains constantly about, he being the epitome of the establishment.

If you cannot recognize the difference between no opposition and constant warfare on every point and rule then you cannot see what is in your face.

So far the leadership has handled everything they have thrown up and there is no reason to think that will change. The “Are We There Yet” chorus will not succeed in undermining success.

I remember sycophants from the Age of Bush and how they soothed conservatives to sleep with lullabies of "strategery" and destroyed America.

McConnell won't go nuclear, so we have to wait 60 days for a Cabinet, long enough for the Deep State to strangle all initiative.

McConnell won't go nuclear, so we have to settle for an emotional milquetoast on the Supreme Court.

McConnell won't go nuclear, so we will never pass tax reform or the Obamacare repeal or defund Planned Parenthood.

Impeachment looms in 2019, and total Left control by 2021.

The Left will go nuclear.

The Left will pack the Court.

The Left will persecute the churches.

The Left will open wide the borders.

The Left will teach the next generation that Trump and his Congress and Court appointees and voters are the greatest of bogeymen.

And the sycophants will be fine, because they covet power more than principle, and have no real skin in the game.

And why is there even a hearing on this topic?

Why not have the REPUBLICAN Congress pass a LAW that clarifies whatever questions have been raised by the judge?

Or a LAW that takes away the Court’s jurisdiction?

You know why?

Because McConnell won’t go nuclear, that’s why!

And the sycophants love it! They love doing nothing, and going on to Internet message boards, and telling people to chill out, and then the RINO’s in power pay the sycophants to go fundraise for them, and the pattern repeats for another 2 years while the country goes to the dark place it has been heading without pause since 1988.

There is no reason to get the Congress involved in this other than affirming Gosuch. The Jedge didn’t give any legal reasons for the ruling. If he had, all Trump need do is re-cast the executive order.

Congress has better things to do and are currently doing them.
Your criticism sounds like Never Trump babble meaning nothing. It plays directly into the Left’s scheme to mindlessly try and undermine the GOP. So far the Leadership has been excellent no matter what the Hysterical would have us believe.

Like most Trump voters, I voted for Trump *primarily* to stop judicial tyranny.

undermine the GOP

Ah, the shibboleth. What's more important, the GOP or conservatism?

So far the Leadership has been excellent no matter what the Hysterical would have us believe.

THEY HAVE DONE NOTHING.
