A suspected diaper thief shot dead outside a Pine Hills Wal-Mart on Saturday was a fugitive on felony probation at the time of his death, state records show.
Arthur Art Adams, 19, was a gang member who was planning to sell the diapers, Orange County sheriffs Capt. Angelo Nieves said.
Adams had an arrest record dating to 2011, when he was 15 years old, records show. He was sentenced to four years of probation in June for two 2013 racketeering convictions.
A customer a 50-year-old man shot Adams after stepping in to help an employee who had followed Adams and two people with him to the parking lot, investigators said.
Nieves would not release the customers name, saying the information is active criminal investigative information and therefore exempt from disclosure under Floridas public records law.
Adams had been arrested at least nine times on charges including grand theft, fleeing law enforcement and selling marijuana.
A Facebook page that appears to be his shows him grinning as he displays a large wad of cash in one hand and a gun in the other. . .

Sounds like shooter solved a problem. This guy was headed for a life of crime.
Well I think the shooter “could” find himself in some legal peril.
I always go armed to Walmart, but I would not have intervened in this case. That said, I think the old earth will get along just fine without the diaper-stealning gang member perp.
Live by stealing, die by stealing.
The guy who shot him wouldn’t have known about any of those prior arrests. As far as he knew, he was confronting someone over some diapers stolen at a Walmart.
The real question is, was the shooter or someone else’s life under threat of extreme harm when he shot the thief?
There are reasoned situations for a lethal response, and there are unreasonable ones.
Concealed carry classes tell you to carry your lawyers card with your concealed carry ID and have $20,000 handy for legal defense.
Yep, written like he was shot over diapers. I am sure in the “confrontation” with the Walmart employee there was more than diapers involved.
Surveillance cameras may have captured the incident on “tape”
“Adams had an arrest record dating to 2011, when he was 15 years old”
This is going to make it difficult for this guy’s baby momma to claim he was in the process of “turning his life around.”
“Adams had been arrested at least nine times on charges including grand theft, fleeing law enforcement and selling marijuana.”
Quite an impressive resume for only 19 years of age.
“[A] fugitive on felony probation at the time of his death.”
The taxpayers have been saved a substantial sum of money on this guy.
Crap shoot...
“Well I think the shooter could find himself in some legal peril.”
Not to mention gang peril.
Just some housecleaning. Move along now.
But was it a clean crap shoot? :-)
Perhaps so. And if so the shooter would have been justified.
It’s my hope that it was a clean justified shooting.
I don’t like the idea of a young (even thug) kid shot over $100 dollars worth of diapers, no matter how much I disagree with his lifestyle and actions.
Headed? Hell, he was hip deep in it already!..............
