I really don’t understand. SUNY is close to where Karina was found. Don’t hospitals have responsibilities to the community? Doesn’t law enforcement check local hospitals? Shouldnt this guy have been caught the next day?

I guess a bunch of overworked residents and the frenzy of an emergency room allowed this guy's hand injury to get lost in the shuffle. They may have believed his baloney story of "being mugged". It may have been a trivial case on a night where they had a multitude of life and death cases. Who knows?
