Why UC police let anarchists run wild in Berkeley
San Francisco Chronicle ^ | February 5, 2017 | Matier & Ross

When it comes to its treatment of anarchist protesters like the ones who trashed Sproul Plaza the other night, UC Berkeley’s attitude amounts to this: We’d rather deal with broken windows than broken heads.

Have you ever read Goering’s conference with the German insurance industry in the days after Kristallnacht? All that broken glass was expensive, and it was not clear who should have to pay for it.

The President of the University of California, Janet Napolitano, should be held accountable. Considering her past policies in similar situations with DHS, why isn't anybody questioning her? It wouldn't be surprising if this wasn't entirely orchestrated by her, including the anarchists.

Personally, I think broken heads send a much clearer message than broken windows. That’s just me.

I think you will find widespread agreement with that, on FR.

More broken heads will result in fewer broken windows. Actions should have consequences.

Yeah, well that kind of thinking is going to cause more Snowflakes to act up, plus you’re going to start seeing more non-students showing up because they know they can break into stores and loot with impunity. Really dumb idea...

We’d rather deal with broken windows than broken heads.

That's not the choice facing us. We can let Ctrl-Left thugs bust windows now and let the same emboldened liberal thugs bust innocent heads immediately afterwards, or we can bust socialist thug heads as soon as they instigate violence. I'd rather have only far-left thugs injured than have property damage plus innocent people injured. The proper response to a Ctrl-Left riot travels at 900 fps or faster.

The most fundamental purposes of governments is to establish uniform laws, enforce those laws, and provide for the common defense. Any time a government fails in these duties/powers, it becomes illegitimate. Berkley has declared anarchy. Under those circumstances, it is every man and woman for themselves. Arm up and ammo up.

gun-free zone and cop-free zone= chaos
Berkeley was the worst of both worlds.
Their insurer should refuse to pay the fat judgments to come against them.

A lot of these guys are from upper middle class backgrounds. The one guy that was allegedly identified, his father is a successful Hollywood and TV screenwriter.

So what did the rioters achieve?

Was it to stop the event? Then they were successful.

Was it to keep people from hearing Milo’s message?

Then they failed. His book sales went thru the roof. More people are hearing his message than could have possibly fit in that auditorium.

Stopping free speech is more difficult than the rioters realize.

Private property equals freedom. There is no private property in Communist countries and there is no freedom. I will protect my private property, my freedom, with what ever means necessary.

The police, campus, government officials all pledged to protect the safety, well being and Civil/Constitutional rights of the people they serve - not just their ultra liberal friends who are rioting.

Any Federal money going to UC Berkeley should immediately be cut.

Since the state of California will come to Berkeley’s rescue and offer them money to make up for Federal losses, the state of California should also lose Federal money going to it.

Citizens can rightly ask: if rioters and liberal politicians and their friends don’t have to obey the law, why do any of us?

I absolutely believe it. That’s another reason AntiFa and their little Berkeley buds were allowed to rampage at will. The rich and
connected don’t want their spoiled brats getting a police record. Amazing what a superfluity of dollars can do.

I’m pleased to say that the anti-free speech mayhem cost Berkeley at least one large donor. Scott Adams, who draws Dilbert, stopped his generous donations on a dime. He said one of the profs told him that if he set foot inside his alma mater, he’d get the tar beat out of him (for not being sufficiently anti-Trump.) So Adams said he’d support Milo instead.

Ha!

Interest in Berkeley’s Young Republican club also spiked. Not to mention Milo being on Tucker Carlson’s show two nights in a row. Had the rioters *wanted* to do Milo a favor, they couldn’t have done better.

He needs to name the professor. It’s not helpful if he doesn’t and creates a belief that it didn’t happen. I always tell people if they get a threat through e-mail or voice message, go directly and quietly to law enforcement first. Don’t go to a message board, don’t go to social media, don’t go to friends or family. If it is a legitimate threat, there’s a public record and an investigation will ensue. If you are lying (like many of the “hate crime” hoaxes) you will be outed. If it’s real, the perpetrator is in deep trouble.

Someone may get offended.

Why pay taxes, then?

So the liberals can flood the nation with Muslim terrorists who want to kill you. All MUSLIMS are commanded to kill you. Some do, some don't.

SO the liberals can make sure their "protestors" can riot and only the bad guys get hurt. Bed guys in this case is anybody who voted for or supports Trump.
