Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) on Sunday tacitly criticized President Trump for blasting a federal judge for ruling against an executive order barring visitors from seven predominantly Muslim countries.

McConnell said on CNN’s “State of the Union” that it is “best to avoid criticizing judges individually.”

Trump lashed out at Judge James Robart of the Western District of Washington, an appointee of President George W. Bush, after he ruled against the order on refugees and travelers from Iraq, Syria and other predominantly Muslim counties.

Why are they a protected class? No one would say leave individuals in the legislative/executive branch alone.

The judge made a blatantly illegal ruling. He deserves to be disbarred and prosecuted for violating his oath of office.

Well, Mitch, what if the judge is corrupt or deliberately trying to admit terrorists and get Americans killed? What then, Mitch...

Not only should they be named, their home address should be released along with their phone number.

McConnell is a pussy.

He should have this judge before the judiciary committee answering for his deliberate malfeasance and obstruction.

In preparation for an impeachment vote.

The Left attacks judges individually all the time, especially Supreme Court justices. They even get nasty and go after their personal faith (see the Gonzales v. Carhart aftermath). The fake news media never says a word about that. Literally the only time a judge is above reproach to our media is when it's a Republican saying something negative about one.

Trump ought to have simply stated, “We will find out who paid for this ruling and how much.”

We have the White House only. That is all. Looks to me that our side is going to need to protest the House and the Senate.

The federal judiciary is one of three branches of government. It’s okay to criticize the executive branch by name, it’s okay to criticize members of the legislative branch by name, so it stands to reason that it’s okay to criticize members of the judicial branch by name. This abject fear of criticizing federal judges is why so many of them think they are godheads in black robes and are thus infallible and untouchable.

The President is an individual - and the Executive Branch.
The Judiciary is a group of individuals- why not single out the little branches that make up the big one?

How did that saying go? “Kill all lawyers”

There needs to be a limit of how many lawyers are allowed to be in congress. A major problem is that Lawyers think Judges are next to God.

In my view a lower judge should not have the power to overrule the President, only the supreme court. And if a judge makes an stupid ruling, they should be impeached for being stupid.

Rule 12 from Rules for Radicals:

“Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it.” Cut off the support network and isolate the target from sympathy. Go after people and not institutions; people hurt faster than institutions

I am completely dumbfounded by this ruling and the administration’s response to it. Many times in the past Trump has proven that he was thinking a few steps ahead of everyone else, I hope that’s the case here.

The Judicial branch has no jurisdiction over immigration, that is left to the Executive branch. This ruling seems to imply that 1. Foreigners have constitutional rights and 2. The judicial branch’s jurisdiction reaches beyond our country’s borders. By appealing this ruling instead of just ignoring it the Trump administration seems to be accepting the precedent that one liberal judge can overrule the law and un-do the Executive’s immigration decisions.

It’s obvious that this ruling is part of a broader plot to goad Trump into doing something that could initiate impeachment proceedings. As I said Trump has often proven to be thinking farther ahead than everyone else. I hope that’s what’s going on now.
