Is it customary for all the senators of the opposing party to speak up against a cabinet nominee during discussion/debate? I’ve been muting the TV for most of the Dem senators but so far every one I’ve heard has spoken against Senator Sessions being confirmed. Is that specific to the current volatile political environment, or is this always the case and then some from the opposite party still vote FOR confirmation?

If you look at the length of time for prior confirmations as compared to the obstructionist tactics being used to slooooow down President Trump’s, it is the volatile political environment.

What is driving the rancor towards this administration?
Fear.

Fear of slowing down a Socialist agenda.
Fear of losing the gravy train.
Fear of a political outsider who is not uniparty.
Progressives and neocons are both set against him.
And fear of exposure of criminal activity by people in high places.

People are criticizing Pres. Trump for his Tweet about Ivanka, saying he should stay out of it, etc.

Rush was describing how Harry Truman publicly threatened a reporter with bodily harm for criticizing his daughter’s singing. Of course, Truman was a Democrat.

I think this has been going on for years but what is different is most parties only do this every so often. This is not a regular thing going after every person a President has put up for confirmation. They are now saying not since President Washington. I pray the Democrates are hanging themseves one by one.
