I don’t recall ever hearing an ex-Bush official who was Counselor to the Under Secretary of Defense for Policy and served as a senior adviser at Obama’s State Department making these kinds of statements, do you?
Furthermore, I never heard a single person except for a very infrequent crank say that all elections would be stopped and that Obama would never leave office.
I don’t think you can make an equivalence of what we are seeing now with the increasing unhinged left, with anything of that scope and level on the right in the last eight years.

I hate to say it, but in the small section I work in, there is plenty of support for idiotic Obama policies and a lot of fear about Trump. (6 mil, 5 civ; 2 Trump supporters, 6 Trump haters. Of the 3 remaining, I'd say 1 is occasionally conservative.) It's a small sample and hopefully not representative.
