SIOUX CENTERThree students from Dordt College in Sioux Center attended the inauguration of President Donald Trump on Friday, Jan. 20.
Senior Steve Kelly, who serves as the chairman of the Iowa Federation of College Republicans; junior Ryan McDermott, who is the Dordt College Republicans vice president; and Kellys brother Dan, a freshman, were able to take part in the events.
The Kellys attended along with their dad, Mark, who is a Republican Party official from Hartland, Wisc.
Steve Kelly said it took some time after the election results before he realized he might have the opportunity to attend.
My dad and I both applied for tickets to the inauguration I did here in Iowa and he did in Wisconsin, Kelly said. We thought with two applications it would give us a better chance. We ended up getting our tickets through Wisconsin.
