There have been various sedition acts passed over the years, I believe the current one is the Smith Act passed in 1940. It's been used against Nazis and commies, however it is difficult to prove sedition because oftentimes it has to be more than just speech. There has to be overt acts of organizing or carrying out sedition. However, it is illegal and as Justice Jackson stated, the constitution is not a suicide pact so it won't protect you against an attempt to overthrow the government that the document brought into being...
