Few people remember the weeks after the Kent State episode. A lot of parents came to question the safety capability of the administrative staff at Kent State. For a brief time, it was appearing like that a large segment of parents would either pull their kids immediately or at the summer recess. I talked in the 1990s to my boss who went to four years after the episode.

He was told that numerous trouble-makers were brought in and just told to either leave or be expelled. The college refused to allow riot-type episodes to ever occur again.

I look at Berkeley and it’s almost begging for some riot-injury to occur, where two or three kids could sue for $20 million each and start putting tuition program at jeopardy for massive increases.

I agree and, while none of my kids would ever attend a college like that, I would, if one of my kids was hurt, spend millions to bankrupt them.
