And I thought he looked like an old man in it, even back then!
Freeman does own a business of his own (blues club in Mississippi), and he previously co-owned a restaurant in the same area for around ten years. Unlike many of the Hollywood crowd, he sees where the rubber meets the road in terms of the economy.
Of all actors I had him pegged as a solid anti-trumper.
There was no praise for Trump. It’s just that reality is setting in.
For the first time EVER the black community has someone who actually cares about them. He actually wants to help and will actually do something about it. That has to be a shock to people who have just been trotted out at campaign time and tossed aside as soon as the election is over
Wow! Definitely didn’t expect that from M. Freeman.
Same here.
He likes to keep people guessing, I guess. He's made some very partisan Democrat comments -- calling the Tea Party racist for example -- but also criticized political correctness.
This isn't going to cost him anything because he'll say other things that are pro-Democrat and anti-Trump.
Still, it was nice that he took the high road here.
They might Bill Cosby him.
You rang???
I may want to visit that club sometime and explore the blues history in Clarksdale. It even has apartments above it that can rented by the day. Tourism may be the best way to revive that extremely depressed area.
I heard a great comeback from him a while back that I never forgot: When asked by some snarky TV interviewer what should we do to combat racism in this country, he replied, “Stop talking about it.”
That’s racist.
LOL
Because I said “blacklisted”?
Yeah, I know, it’s very deplorable.
