Are powerful women Trump's Achilles heel? (Need to grow more arms to have enough facepalms)
CNN (where else?) ^ | 2/1/2017 | Jill Filipovic

(CNN)If there's one thing Donald Trump can't stand, it's a woman who stands up for herself -- which makes women standing up to him all the more crucial, and all the more delectable, in his administration's turbulent early days. How will our new President respond when women are not his subordinates or paramours, but are the ones working to enact the checks and balances on his governmental power?

Petulant and bullying attacks on opponents are standard for the Trump administration, but this one had a whiff of something else -- a kind of outraged condescension, the way an abusive parent might berate a misbehaving child. Women who step out of line seem to trigger a particular kind of rage from this President.

[snip]

So former acting Attorney General Sally Yates' decision to put her duty to the law above her instructions to carry out an awful executive order on immigration was all the sweeter, as it managed to goad Trump into a sexist crouch while sowing delight among his opponents. Trump, so thin-skinned he is incapable of turning the other cheek to criticism even from random people on Twitter, predictably had a toddler-style meltdown over Yates' insubordination. His team sent a huffy statement to the press calling her fidelity to the constitution and her oath of office "betrayal." Not content to go after her decision alone, they also launched an attack on her record and character, calling her "weak" on borders and "very weak" on immigration (Trump provided no evidence to support these claims, but perhaps they're just some of those "alternative facts" we've been hearing so much about.)

Kind of makes one wish that CNN were a stand alone pay for cable show.

At least then I/we could have the satisfaction of knowing that by not watching CNN it was costing them money.

Maybe ‘we’ could pay someone to watch CNN so a list of sponsors could be gotten and at least start a campaign to boycott them.

Trump is a business guy. The drive to success results in hiring the best person for the job - male, female, yellow, purple, whatever. Bigotry reduces the chances of success. This is something any good CEO learns quickly or they fail.

I really don’t think the left will ever understand this because of their never-ending focus on race, religion, etc.

Yes, when I was in the Asphalt Paving business, I probably could have been more successful had I hired women instead of the QUALIFIED people I did hire.

Little did I know that I could have saved anywhere from 50-75 cents per hour by hiring ‘them’ and just put it in my pocket.

Then again, I would have had to ‘fire’ a lot of minorities in order to accommodate the women.

These Libs just don’t make it ‘easy’ do they?

Remember we all ‘laughed’ when the guys sued because they were discriminated against when ‘HOOTERS’ wouldn’t hire them.

Interesting to see how that would fare today????

I can see CNN not so slowly becoming the newest supermarket tabloid complete with angle headlines.

Is this clown perhaps unaware that the very first person Trump hired to renovate the Trump Tower was ... a female project manager? Who brought the project in under schedule and under budget?

So former acting Attorney General Sally Yates' decision to put her duty to the law above her instructions to carry out an awful executive order on immigration

Partisan bubble-girl fake news fake journalist wrings her rubber-gloved hands about a bubble-girl acting AG who refused to enforce a lawful, fully compliant Presidential EO (according to her own department).

Lady, you're living in an alternate Leftist bubble-universe which, unfortunately, does not intersect in any meaningful way with objective reality.

Sorry to burst your bubble, sweetheart...

Are powerful women Trump's Achilles heel?

Yes.

Yes they are.

But not like this deluded author thinks.

Melania is very powerful -- a successful businesswoman in her own right -- and she is his wife.

Ivanka is very powerful -- a well-cultured and successful woman -- and she is his daughter.

His successful Presidential campaign was run by a powerful woman: KellyAnne Conway.

From an article in the Washington Post, before they became Fake News:

"Today, according to Trump’s attorney, Michael Cohen, there are more women than men holding executive positions in the Trump Organization, heading such departments as human resources, golf and hotel management, and global licensing, even though women make up just 43 percent of the overall workforce. Women who are in similar positions as men, Cohen said, “are compensated at equal and in many cases higher pay rates."
