You’re asking a very common sense question. But common sense is getting to be very rare today, especially in the politically correct liberal, secular world.
There no way a child of 11-12 knows what this means for their present life and that of their life to come. In my view it is criminal for anyone to even discuss transsexuality with a kid this age, and the parents should be prosecuted for delinquency of a minor. My heart goes out to these children being manipulated by homosexual/transsexual activists. This goes way beyond sick.
P.S. I am an Eagle Scout and spent many years in various capacities in local Scout units including many joyous years as a Scoutmaster. I know kids like these, whose lives they are ruining for the rest of their lives.

Remember when the BSA was considering “gay” scouts? It was a major, drawn out procedural hurdle, with solicitations of public opinion and required a full vote of the BSA board members during an annual meeting. Why is it now just a quick scribble in the rules?

We are talking about 12-14 yr. old Pre-pubescent kids (girls too) with raging hormones playing show and tell in a tent on a campout some late night and ending up in the same sleeping bag!
The reason, I was a Boy Scout and remember scouts talking about comparing their "equipment" on campouts when I was a scout.

A woman phoned into the Dennis Prager radio show this morning saying that her daughter was complaining that the boys at her school were acting effeminate—they’re concerned with their appearance, they unashamedly cry and show their emotions, etc. Prager responded that the liberal-leftists who run the schools are seeking to turn our boys into effeminate “metrosexuals.” Subverting the Boy Scouts is certainly a step toward that goal.
