HotAir ^

That leaves McConnell and Senate majority whip John Cornyn with some heavy lifting to do. They either need to convince Collins and/or Murkowski to get back on board with DeVos, or make sure no one else disembarks before Pence can cast the 101st vote and keep Sessions in the Senate long enough to pull off this high-wire act. Stay tuned.

Uh -- whut?

I'm detecting a "Gorsuch" auto-correct problem there. LOL.

That is obsurd. I knew the GOPe would do this. There will be political hell to pay. Deals will now be made with Manchin and other Dems up for re elections. Trump will make the deals soon. It is the people of Alaska and Maine that will soon feel the wrath and sting from this crap .

If they will vote against DeVos they may vote against Gorsuch.

I doubt it. There's a big difference between the two in terms of qualifications.

Sessions to tie it and then Pence to cast the tie-breaker.

Is there anything on this earth more worthless than a Republican Senator?

Especially those two.

They will vote against Gorsuch.

Why would these two Republicans conflate the DeVos vote with the Gorsuch vote? They're two separate people, two separate positions. Surely, these Senators are not voting against everyone that Trump puts forth?

Deals will now be made with Manchin and other Dems up for re elections.

Manchin has voted for Trump's appointments to date but he has made it clear that he considers DeVos completely unqualified for the position and he will not be voting for her. And I doubt it will hurt his publicity at home among Republicans and could help among what's left of his Democrat base. And if Manchin, the most vulnerable of Democrats, won't do it then I don't see any of the other Democrats doing it either.

I've always thought DeVos was the weakest of the nominees and the one most likely to embarrass Trump if confirmed. If she doesn't make it through the Senate then it isn't a huge loss to the cabinet.

Murkowski will definitely vote against Gorsuch. She is a huge supporter of Planned Parenthood and has almost single handedly destroyed the Republican party here in Alaska. She had almost every so called “conservative” talk show host on the take to the tune of a million bucks last election. The head of the State GOP as well. Dead baby blood money bribes.
