Grocery shopping? Ugh! No thanks. You'll do what you can to avoid this chore.
Of course, you need to eat like everyone else - so you'll pick up something easy and convenient to tide you over.

If you had your way (or won the lottery), you wouldn't have to worry about groceries at all. You'd love to eat out for every meal.
But until then, you're happy to make to with a frozen pizza or some mac and cheese! Maybe even a banana if you're feeling healthy.

When I was single, I could sit on the sofa with a plate of food and not be bothered by any cats. They didn’t know what it was since they weren’t given any people food. Even if I dropped something, they didn’t bother with it.
Not so now! But these guys know not to bother begging from ne because they’ll get nothing but a little swat on their hineys.

The outside cats do enjoy their bird when they can catch one. They get praised if it’s a mockingbird, starling, or bluejay but anything else ticks me off.
I prefer they just concentrate on moles and squirrels if they’re going to hunt though.

I haven’t been able to really sit down and relax here this evening. Been up and down checking on Lessa (the shots made her feel puny) and bringing the kittens out here, one at a time, to let them get comfortable with so many other cats in the room. I’ll be glad when they’re all settled in and things are back to normal.

Good night and sleep well. Have a good Hump Day! Hard to believe it’s the first of Feb. already!

A very pleasant good Wednesday morning and ((HUGS)) to everyone at the Canteen and to all our military at home and abroad. Thanks for your service to our country and thanks LUV W. for this morning's quiz.

I’m having a bout of insomnia, so that is why I am posting at this hour.

Sue’s husband had to transfer there for his work.
They did not live at the cottage when they were
living here, but had a lovely Victorian home.
If you think the cottage is nice, you should have seen THAT home! Just gorgeous!

WELCOME TO THE

Good morning, Everyone.

Good morning

Thank you, Luvy, for preparing the Canteen
for today's activities.

You Are Costco
You are a savvy shopper who loves to save money, but you never like to cut corners with your food.
For you, quality is very important. You would rather pay a little more for a brand that you trust.

You are happy eating the same types of food day after day. Once you find something you like, you stick to it.
You know your way around a kitchen, and you are comfortable feeding a crowd. Your kitchen is stocked with delicious and healthy treats.
What Grocery Store Are You?

Pretty accurate, IMO.
Although, I don't shop at Costco; too far away.
Weis has opened a store few miles
further than our Food Lion/Safeway
and we've discovered we like the selections offered;
the prices seem to be in between the former two.

Going to finally get to gym this morning.
And run some errands afterwards.
I'm thinking Thursday looks to be open
with no road-running. Sigh!

Hey Pro...our weather people are saying
your February temps will be above normal.
Don't pull your back doing cartwheels. hehe

The Canteen is

Come on in and sit for a while.
There's always plenty of coffee, tea,
pancakes, conversation, silliness, and plain old BS

REMEMBER THEM

DEFENDERS OF FREEDOM

FR CANTEEN MISSION STATEMENT

Central Indiana is in the midst of a massive grocery store war.

We ARE??

In Greenfield we have WALMART, Marsh, Kroger and Aldi's.

I only feed ours a little canned food once a day.

My 6-7 barn cats get dry food once a day; if they can beat the local possum to it.

If they want more; there are mice in the fields.

I do spoil them with a pie pan full of milk every other day.

But I buy the 22# bag as it's cheaper per unit cost than this big one.

You Are The Commissary

You are a savvy military shopper who loves to save money. Thanks to DECA, you'll never have to cut corners to get the highest quality fresh foods.
For you, quality is very important. And it really tickles your tank that you actually pay less for the brands you trust.

You enjoy the variety of international fare available at the Commissary, and love to experiment with exotic examples of foreign foods. It's nice to know they are always available at your local military grocery store.
You know your way around a kitchen, and you are comfortable feeding a crowd. Your kitchen is stocked with delicious and healthy treats.

Kroger is good. In our area, their stores are Fry’s; which was a local chain until Kroger bought them.

Fry’s gives you gas discounts (up to a dollar a gallon) for every hunnert dollars you spend.

Howdy, EGC! (((hug)))

All is well here. Sunny and warm. Might as well be spring. Except the sand isn’t blowing.

Thanks for playing. I think you’re more a “fast food’’ guy like I am! KFC sounds really good right now! :)

LOL! Mornin’, Jinxy! Thanks for playing...always love to see your witty answers!

I enjoyed shopping at the commissary, too, except they looked more like warehouses when I shopped there. LOL! I wonder if the kids have located one up north. I’ll nearly bet the closest one is at Mountain Home. That’s a far piece!

He’d come home with half the store and would forget most of what we needed. LOL! I learned that lesson long ago.

Have you ever heard Jeannie Robertson tell the tale of sending Left Brain to the grocery store for 7-up cake ingredients? It'll leave you howling!

Their closest is a toss-up; Mountain Home or Cheyenne.
