One of the most anticipated moves of the new president -- his nomination of a justice to fill the vacancy on the U.S. Supreme Court -- has been revealed.

And conservatives are likely to be thrilled by the choice.

The Independent Journal Review (IJR) is reporting that, based on the confirmation from two Trump administration sources, Colorado Judge Neil Gorsuch will be nominated by President Donald Trump to be the next Associate Justice of the United States Supreme Court.

The IJR report reads:

Speaking on background, an administration source instrumental to the SCOTUS selection process tells IJR, “Yes. It is Gorsuch. 100 percent. The Hardiman thing is a head fake.” Thomas Hardiman is the other Judge Trump was considering for the vacancy, who is also in Washington, D.C.

A second source within the Trump administration confirmed IJR’s reporting.

Gorsuch, currently 49 years old, would become one of the youngest SCOTUS appointments in history. The Colorado native attended Harvard Law with former President Barack Obama and is a "strict Constitutionalist," says IJR.

For me Gorsuch was heads above the others. Pryor seemed to be a dark horse, and unreliable. Hardiman also had some things.

The Colorado native attended Harvard Law with former President Barack Obama 49 seemed young for him to have crossed paths with BO, but it turns out BO (now 55) didn't get into law school until he was 27.

I don’t know how a lawyer could make arguments which are anti-Constitutional, and ultimately contribute to the unraveling of this great nation. Maybe it’s just me.

I’ll accept any of the three. The alternative was a pick by Hillary Clinton or Obama’s man, Merrick Garland.

I’m giving president Trump a lot of leeway here.

Scary, very rarely does a democRAT appointee flip, can only recall Whizzer White. But the pubbies have so many flippers in modern history, Earl Warren, ,Souter etc. And the pubbies also have Roberts and Kennedy and scratch your head. Let’s hope and pray this pick stays the course and is not influenced by the MSM and Washington beltway. Weren’t GOP appointees responsible for getting Roe v Wade?

So he goes through the trouble of doing a head fake, flying everyone in and then gets an unnamed source to leak the info anyways? Fake News! He will be nominating both because another justice will be retiring tonight....Sources say

Just think about Tim Kaine and you can begin to see the level of her nominees.

Jackie Mason would also probably have a great time as a nominee.

I didn’t know this until just now but Gorsuch was part of the “Hobby Lobby Stores” and “Little Sisters of the Poor” cases against the Obamacare contraception mandate. He is definitely on our side.

“He stressed the need to accept these parties’ own conceptions regarding the requirements of their faith, and held (among other things) that they were likely to prevail on claims that the contraception mandate in the Affordable Care Act substantially burdened their religious exercise in violation of RFRA. This position was largely vindicated in the subsequent decision by the Supreme Court.”
