A Colorado state representative announced a bill Monday that would allow victims of certain crimes committed by illegal immigrants to sue state and local politicians who defy federal immigration authorities seeking to enforce the law, multiple news outlets are reporting.

Republican state Rep. Dave Williams, who is Hispanic, said he wants to strip the “immunity” from Democratic politicians who “place Coloradans in danger because of the sanctuary city policies that they created and continue to implement,” the Denver Post reported.

Finally...someones doing something.I would also make it possible to sue them on a civil basis, and include any school..restaurant..and private person who knowingly flaunts the law or who harbors a criminal...especially if they’re not here with prior approval...immigration is generally good but it has to be orderly for maximim benefit for all involved(no terrorists or criminals need apply)

Excellent idea!

These people are breaking the law by defying the feds. If someone gets hurt as a result of them breaking the law, then the city should be liable.

[CALIFORNIA SANCTUARY STATE!] (drudge)

Since calipornia want to make the whole state a sanctuary zone just take a federal warrant to their governor and attorney general and arrest them for harboring and obstructing justice.

Businesses? Wow. That would be a lot of businesses. How many businesses hire illegals know that they are illegal. Lots.

So the “ACLU is supporting murder or violence now and protecting criminals”... would be the mantra.

I was just saying at lunch that the mayors have declared war on America.

Anyone seen the list of “sanctuary” cities/counties/states lately?

Four whole states: California, Connecticut, New Mexico, Colorado

Civil suits are easier to win. Less of a burden to establish liability.

I am not sure of the law but I was taught "immunity" only applies to government employees who are acting within the scope of their authority. As in the case of a cop in a bad shoot, immunity is striped and they can be prosecuted criminally and sued civilly.

So I can't see how a mayor, chief of police or county sheriff can claim to be acting within the scope of their authority by violating federal law. I think the US Justice Department and the FBI need to open investigations into official misconduct by these politicos and start initiating criminal and civil cases and issuing consent decrees on their departments to insure the misconduct does not continue.

Suing in superior court or prosecutions could take years. But thousand of damaged individuals could sue in Small Claims courts as individuals and there would be immediate changes.

Would it be possible for charges such as...

Depraved indifference or accessory - for perniciously contributing to the situation that creates the crime?

half of the country who is extremely mistaken about this temp ban being fascist or racist.

They are not Mistaken.

They are mindless sheep who are too lazy to think for themselves so they have become useful idiots of the rich elite Globalists who want the last country who stands in the way of their one world order run on a corporate business plan to be gone.

If it interferes with making them or their businesses richer it is bad and should be eliminated at once.

Whether people place or things.

It’s probably very difficult. There are a lot of families hurting from losing someone to one of the recent terror attacks. They may not be very politically aware. They may not know whom to speak to. They are stunned and mourning and actually need help speaking to the American people.

I’d like to hear from someone whose son or daughter was recently killed at the Orlando Bar, or in San Bernardino, or the FL airport, and hear how THEY feel about unvetted, secret, unlimited immigration.
