McConnell: We don’t have religious tests in this country [barf]

Several top Senate Republicans raised concerns Sunday that President Trump’s order to halt the admission of refugees and citizens of seven Muslim-majority countries had not been properly vetted and could harm the relationship between the United States and key allies. […]

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) cautioned that the United States does not have a religious test for entry into the country, though he stopped short of rejecting the order in its entirety. McConnell said that Muslims, both in the United States and abroad, are key allies in the fight against terrorism and urged caution in regard to Trump’s plan to implement “extreme vetting” for refugees from countries where a majority of the citizens are Muslim. …

The Senators and Representatives before mentioned, and the Members of the several State Legislatures, and all executive and judicial Officers, both of the United States and of the several States, shall be bound by Oath or Affirmation, to support this Constitution; but no religious Test shall ever be required as a Qualification to any Office or public Trust under the United States.
That is the only place in the Constitution (Article 6, paragraph 3) where the phrase “religious test” appears, and the only context. McConnell got by without a religious test for his office, but constitutional knowledge ought to be a requirement to be sure.

What if there were a religion that from its founding rejects the legitimacy of rule by laws made by elected legislatures?

What if there were a religion that advocates the killing of people of other faiths if they refuse to convert?

What if there were a religion that has a goal the creation of a world wide political regime and the destruction of the US constitution?

President Trump will be fighting the Uniparty throughout his Presidency. The Liberals want to fundamentally transform this country and the RINOs want to keep the Cheap Labor Express running.

All of this is the fault of Congress for decades. They are responsible for this chaos.

McConnell, Graham, McCain and the rest of these fu**tards should realize that Islam is far more than a “religion,” it is a global totalitarian movement of brutal conquest that demands subjugation or death.

A bunch of morons in the Senate.

The only thing I want to hear coming out of Mitch McConnell’s mouth is, “I’m having a stroke.”

I was wondering — is there anything in U.S. law outside the Constitution that would address that issue?

The “no religious Test” phrase has been much-abused in public debate. I haven’t studied the background of it, but I’ve assumed that it points back to the religious tests of England, which required people to be active communicants of the Anglican Church in order to hold office, and thus excluded Presbyterians, Non-Conformists, Catholics, etc.

Wonder what the Constitution reads about declaring a “war on Terror?” Is it a war or are we just pretending to be at war on terror? How do you know who is a Islamic terrorist if you don’t vet them? So what are the standards for a war against a religious group?

Very strange for him to say it’s not test of someone’s religion, then how do you protect yourself against an extremist in that religion?

These Senators and Congressmen say whatever they think will appease people without thinking through what they have said and done in the past.

I think McConnell needs to hear from all of us.

We owe it to President Trump.

Moron doesn’t even realize the seven countries were restricted under Obama.

He didn’t seem to raise an objection then.

When is McConnell up for reelection? Trump needs a candidate who can run as an Independent if we can’t get these fools out in primaries.

We have to stop ALL immigration . Clearly the leaders of this country are unfit to lead and can’t be trusted with something as important as immigration..
