Trump continues to outwit the press: ‘A carefully maintained strategy’

President Trump has a unique skill set when it comes to getting his message to the American people, wrangling the press and emerging from the effort unscathed. His dealings with journalists are precise and canny, indeed.

“Why are the relations between Donald Trump and the press so bad? There are two reasons. One is that Trump is a Republican, and the press consists overwhelmingly of Democrats. But the other reason is that Trump likes it this way, because when the press is constantly attacking him over trivialities, it strengthens his position and weakens the press,” writes Instapundit columnist Glenn Reynolds in USA Today. “Trump’s ‘outrageous’ statements and tweets aren’t the product of impulsiveness, but part of a carefully maintained strategy that the press is too impulsive to resist.”

The president, Mr. Reynolds says, “has more media experience than probably 99 percent of the people covering him.”

The press also gets “pretty much everything” wrong about Mr. Trump according to Fox News anchor Sean Hannity.

Reading The Art of The Deal will give you a playbook for the Trump Administration. Full of insight.

It’s entertaining to watch President Trump wave a stick and throw it. The media mutts bark and howl and run away chasing it.

Very few of Trump’s detractors have read “Art of the Deal”. Most of those who have are Trump supporters. A few months ago, a relative who is a diehard Democrat was repulsed to see “Art of the Deal” on my bookcase. She would never consider picking up the book and reading it herself. I think this is why Trump is having such an easy time outsmarting them.

The media is not balanced, and quick on their feet. They are into self-preservation; few heroes in the media. If they go with the Democratic Party line, they will probably be safe with a paycheck. If they go against the party line, there will be hell to pay. They will lose their jobs and sacred friendships on the left. They do not want Trump to be popular, that alone makes Trump popular.

Journalism is dead. Had been in life support since the 1960s. Succumbed completely during Hussein’s tenure.

The proper philosophy of negotiation is a win/win. It is much more fun when both parties understand the techniques and philosophy of negotiation. That is why he wrote the book.

It’s a shame that the MSM are shooting themselves in the foot and aren’t smart enough to see it. They seem to have forgotten that journalism is supposed to report the facts, not skew them to promote their own agenda. Trump has rendered them to the way of the dinosaurs by simply using social media to get his message out. Obozo used the MSM because they were in his pocket from the get-go. Had the MSM done it investigatory duty back in 2007, some still-unanswered questions may have actually had an answer.

Every time I saw that scumbag with his feet on our desk I wished it were possible to just push them off and tell him off.

Very interesting. “They”, the liberal socialists cannot ever create a leftist tea party. The tea parties were completely organic. Rick Santelli’s Tea Party rant in 2009 sparked the movement into being. The movement was already on high alert awaiting a call to actionn. That was it and it exploded.

The difference and the problem that the left has is that it is inherently a “victim” mindset requiring constant coersion and external funding to exist. The tea parties are mostly self funded. We are not only never paid by any political action committees or groups, we donate to them.

When we do march or rally, we pay our own way. We don’t just have skin in the game, we are the players, we are the game. And, there’s one other possibility that must be contended with, people who prefer liberty over security are inherently more capable, more fearless and more honorable than those who seek security over liberty.

Disagree with the premise. DJT is an Independent, as am I, and the press is overwhelmingly college-trained and indoctrinated by Marxist professors and are lost in the dark.

On the whole, I would agree with this article, however, after last weekend, not so much. The temporary travel ban on Muslims has not been handled very well. There have been a lot of people caught mid-transit and unprepared. It didn’t have to be so chaotic and confusing. The restrictions are fine, but the defiant judges need to be quickly overruled, and any confusion needs to be ironed out asap. I know Trump is not an experienced politician, but I expected more from his team.

The dirty little secret is the left has never been able to create a non AstroTurfed movement. Even the anti-war movement of the 60s was entirely funded from Moscow.

Don’t know if I agree with the headline. I see every channel showing the mobs at the airports, the opposition screamers including McTratior, Judges who can’t wait to stop Trump and it looks pretty bad to me. The biggest thing we have going for us is Trump seems almost immune to negative pressure.

Imperative that DJT teaches lily-livered GOP elites his knowledge in this regard. In this way, an army of triumphant men would soon overcome the darkness seen in our country.

*Carefully managed strategy*?

It doesn’t take that much to outwit the press.

He just does it with a simple tweet first thing in the morning and while they spend the rest of the day obsessing and melting down over it, he’s off on business as usual (for him) and he’s doing things they never notice or get around to reporting because they’re still obsessed with that morning’s tweet.
