To: Alas Babylon!

Good morning ladies and gems! Good morning AB and, as always, thank you for doing this thread regularly on a weekly basis that I can awake and join in with little effort. Thank you Bray for weekly wisdom and thank all yon commenters for fleshing out the stupidity from the wisdom.

Week Just Passed

Well just wow. President Trump is certainly working hard, goodness. Does anybody remember President Obama working so hard, even on weekends? All I recall is pictures of him on the golf course.

The other big news is the threat to look into voter fraud. THAT bit of news has the Democrats shaking in boots, as well it should. I hope Trump doesn’t drop this plan because voter fraud is rampant and not once, not one single damn time last week, did I heard about the Russians stealing our election, what silliness was that?

My dogs tell me, however, that the Russians did poop in the hallways so let’s not allow them off scot free.

I do NOT believe that Hillary won the popular vote and I think the genius of launching a nationwide investigation into elections will stop those nuts from constantly telling us Hillary won the popular vote.

If she did, so what?

But she did not. Period.

Finally, today there is a big deal going on at airports because some asshole federal judge put some kind of stay on sending or holding illegal aliens held because of Trump’s executive order.

Is this going to go on every time Trump does something? A bunch of nuts are going to go on some kind of riot?

Soon, folks, soon there will be a civil war. Given the right circumstances, the perfect storm if you will….like that horrible woman who humiliated herself on that airplane, the people are going to take action.

No, I don’t want that happen. But this descent into anarchy has got to stop.

On a Personal Note

I am in a good mood today because I went to church yesterday and prayed dearly for God to send me a smile, just one smile.

So I go home and because my phone was on silent in church I had a bunch of messages. One was from my granddaughter, who I called back and who told me she was my favorite granddaughter. I told her she was my favorite kid on the whole planet but for the record, heh, she is my only granddaughter.

Oh, and by the way, did anybody read President Trump’s admonition about Dreamers? To the effect that if they’ve been good citizens and are currently living a law-abiding life, that they shouldn’t worry too much.

Again, I’ll not argue with anyone on this matter because it ain’t going to happen.

But Beelow, my Dreamer (who swears to me he is legal so don’t go beating up on the guy, I don’t know and frankly, don’t want to know) tenant, sends me a text message which made me smile.

“Miss Path,” he writes as he always calls me Path. Then he invites me over at 9pm because he is having some kind of party that would include “roasted meat”.

I’m thinking this is maybe some big Guatamalan holiday but dear Lord no way I am going to join a bunch of Guatamalans for a party, even with whatever the hell is this roasted meat. Last week Beelow sent me over a plate of food, which was delicious but dear Lord the fish still had the head on it! I took the head off and yeah, I ate it.

Anyway, last week was a WINNING week!

First was my neighbor on my right. I go on Facebook and she has a picture of herself wearing a shirt with Trump on the front, a MAGA hat on her head, flags on her shirt.

I was shocked. She never so much as displayed a sign on her lawn and more, never indicated she was much into politics. She does, however and insert smile here, read everything I write on Blog, Facebook and yeah, she read all my books.

So I stop by on my way to mailbox and told her how surprised I was. My goodness she jumps up and down and tells me how happy she is to have Trump win. On and on we discussed politics and what a joy.

She too knows Beelow, I might add, and tells me how she doesn’t think he should be exported and further, she really needs him to come over and rake her leaves.

Best of all is the veterinarian. Y’all might remember this Vet, handsome guy who really seems to have some sort of fondness for me although know that I am probably ten years younger than him.

Heh, this is the Vet who put his fingers on my back and rubbed them around lightly, some crazy attempt to show me how fleas feel on a dog’s back.

Anyway, this Vet went on and on about Trump, how much he loves him. Another reminder, he and his brother are very active in Sussex county politics.

He told me how he admires Kellyann Conway, how much Trump is going to do to make things better. Guy spent a half hour just talking politics with me. My dogs were in the room, who have fleas by the way in the middle of January, what’s up with that?

Hey, people are happy out here in la-la land where we carry this country on our backs.

President Trump is going to drain that swamp. The people are happy. The rioters will not win.

Rough calculation:
Obama days in office = 365*8 = 2920 days
Obama Rounds of Golf while in office = 300+

Percent of days playing golf instead of working: 300/2920 = 10.2%
